|Bag o' Tricks II|
|Link||Bag o' Tricks II BTSC threads|
|Size||10 Players (Small)|
|Winning Faction||The Triplets|
|First to Die||Yuiop|
It began on July 30th, 2015 and ended in a The Triplets win in N5 (August 10).
Each day and night cycle will be in standard mafia style. However, at the end of each cycle, a list of everyone who acted (player names, not roles) will be published.
Once again, the Magic Bag placed in the center of the cellar would be used by each wizard to draw an ability. After an ability (Spell) is used, it goes back into the Bag o' Tricks to be distributed again. Anyone who does not have a Spell at the beginning of a cycle gets to draw one (PMed by the Great Wizard). A player may draw the same Spell as many times in a row as random.org seems fitting. When a player dies, whatever Spell he has at that time will be lost forever and not returned to the Bag.
If a spell is used, it is returned to the bag. If it is not used, it is held. This is true regardless of whether the spell was successful or not. The only exception is if the spell is used, but the caster dies in the same cycle.
The contents of the Magic Bag at the beginning of the game:
- Thunderbolt (RID Kill)
- Incapacitate (Block)
- Entangle (Trap = Block + save + cannot talk during the next day)
- Charm (Vote redirect)
- Mirror Image (Self Vote Manip x2 or x3)
- True Sight (Faction spy)
- Immobility (Block)
- Invisibility (Makes the target immune to any harmful spell or action for one cycle, player is able to act and talk in the main thread)
- Invoke Familiar (A player who casts this spell is randomly assigned a familiar. As long as the wizard lives, the familiar lives. As long as the familiar lives, the wizard my send a message 75 characters to another player. More than one wizard may have a familiar and a wizard may have more than one familiar, if he gets the spell a second/third etc time)
- Invoke Oracle (May ask the host one yes or no question limited to 10 words during the night or day)
Orange spells do NOT show in the NP, Blue spells always show in the NP if successful.
- Tie lynch - all tied players die.
- Kills are blocking kills (unless the kill target is also killing).
- If someone with a day action is blocked, they do not get their day action.
Order of Actions
- Invisibility || Assassinate >> Entangle >> Invoke Familiar >> Entrapment >> Immobility > Thunderbolt >> Incapacitate >> Clairvoyance >> True Sight>> Invoke Oracle >> Charm >> Mirror Image
Notes on OOA
- || indicates that nothing may affect a person who is Invisible.
- Charm >> Mirror Image means that whoever casts Charm moves ALL votes regardless of weight (x1, x2, or x3) if he targets someone casting Mirror Image.
Outing your role is banned. Anyone who does it loses their ability for the next night AND for the following day, all votes against them count as double i.e. someone voting x2 on them would actually be voting x4.
There may or may not be secret abilities and/or attributes not listed in the OP.
The Triplets - Know each other - WINCON: Be in majority
They want to be sure that one of them is the apprentice. They've allied together to eliminate their competition (part of the game) before they duke it out amongst themselves (not part of this game).
- Triplet 1 "The Mischiever"
- Triplet 2 "The Duke"
- Triplet 3 "The Rogue"
BTSC does not happen by default but baddies do know each other. Any baddies who elect to forfeit their ability once (the spell goes back into the Bag unused) enters into the Baddie BTSC. The Night Kill will be given to one of the baddies at random until BTSC is established when the ability is powerplayable inside the BTSC. Baddies with BTSC must sacrifice one action among those drawn from the Bag that night in order to get a Night Kill. The NK cannot be blocked by blocking a carrier but baddies can chose a "carrier" to be displayed in the NP as "acting".
The Apprentices - WINCON: Eliminate the Triplets and Assassin.
- The Necromancer
- The Sorcerer
- The Arcanist
- The Summoner
- The Diviner
- The Invoker
- The Transmuter
One of the wizards, however, isn't a warlock at all, but a trained assassin sent to kill the Great Wizard. He does not draw from the Bag o' Tricks, nor does he lose his abilities if used. Each night, he may choose between Assassinate (RID Kill), Clairvoyance (Role Spy), or Entrapment (Block). Additionally, ONCE DURING THE GAME, he may make his vote count as x2. Lastly, he must PM the host before the end of every cycle saying whether he wants to be included in the list of players who acted. If the Indy fails to do this, he will be listed as a player who acted. WINCON: Be the last "warlock" standing.
Game Idea and Expectations
- Boquise - Triplet 1 "The Mischiever"
- Plasmid - Triplet 2 "The Duke"
- Darth Nox - Triplet 3 "The Rogue"
Day and Night Posts
The world had changed a lot since the Great Wizard Thembis had pushed the first generation of warlocks into the deadly contest known as the "Bag o' Tricks". The ruthless warlock that became his apprentice slowly finished his studies and became a Great Wizard himself under the otherwise funny name "NoOne". No one actually dared to call it funny to his face, his temper mixed with his personally designed QFASA-Thunderbolt version had managed to clear the lands of anyone foolish enough to think of the word "funny"!
Soon after the mysterious disappearance of Thembis, the only remaining Great Wizard was forced to take apprentices lest no one remained in the lands. Once again, the news easily attracted a dozen of young wizards to the Great Tower for a fight to the death.
The Great Wizard NoOne called forth the "Confuse/Nullify" magick that robbed them of their powers and previous knowledge and Teleported them into the cellars of the tower.
The Great Wizard NoOne went back into his library, leaving the 10 wizard-to-be in the Great Hall of Mysteries (only used as cellars for the last four thousand years). He huffed and puffed as went up the stairs, picturing the end of the stairs and the welcoming aura of the Portal. He wasn't feeling particularly happy with the lot. For decades the magick in the lands had constantly decreased, with fewer and fewer gifted with each generation.
Universities and Magic Schools had gone out of favor and rumors of villagers burning witches had started to appear. The rule of the gifted had gone out of favor in many courts while the power of the so-called clerics had clouded the kings and queens scattered over the land.
The ruins of the Tower felt colder tonight, colder than ever, much to his dismay. Suddenly a wave of fire went up the stairs soaking up the air from his lungs. And a sonic bang followed. As he regained balance scratching his scorched beard while simultaneously casting self-water, the wave of the magick hit his nostrils. This was Conflagration - an ancient spell he had hidden somewhere a long time ago, maybe ten scrolls left in the entire universe. Mumbling he went back to the climbing ordeal. There will be cleaning to do in the morning, but nothing a fresh batch of ghoul-servants can't handle.
The Ten had cautiously retreated towards the outer walls of the cellar soon after he had left them there, clinging to the scroll they had drawn and their wits. In complete darkness they found the hard way that there were crevices and caches and mini-caves leading out from the cellar to a labyrinth barely light by blue crystals.
The Rogue was the luckiest one as he followed a blue crystal pattern down to a small chamber (a bit lower for his taste), where glowing crystals covered a half-buried chest. Inside it, he found a single scroll. It took him very little time to master the elements as it was fairly simple after all FQ-F-FQ-F-FQ. He knowingly chose a corridor and blasted the spell in the tunnel upwards. A few seconds passed and then a yell followed by an agonizing scream froze everyone. Struggling to cast a self-spell in the narrow corridor chosen as hideout, yuiop died quickly, unable to get rid of the Conflagration's deadly fire effect.
The Transmuter had been watching a lonely figure closely during the Great Wizard's speech and as the darkness fell, he followed it in the labyrinth. He stopped by a large crystal patch and read his scroll till his eyes hurt. Mumbling in the shadows he let forth the Immobility spell and the scroll dissolved. As it followed the scent of his intended target, the magick ball knocked down Okosan for the night.
The light of day brought them to reality again. The dreams of the blue crystals had slowly hypnotized them into submission, but the rays of red light coming from the high windows of the Hall of Great Mysteries fueled their instincts. DarthNox was forced into the central square Portal where he was consumed by Flames. The Bag appeared once more and each of them not carrying a scroll replenished their arsenal for the night.
The Great Wizard called forth the magick of the White Board and slowly letters started to appear: DarthNox, Yuiop, Boquise, dd, Jay Gold.
The Duke was out and about, searching for anyone who brought about the demise of their younger brother. He found Aura and followed her, stalking and keeping to the shadows. With a quick word of magick, Aura fell to the ground, lifeless. The Duke checked carefully for a pulse then dumped the body in a pit nearby.
The Summoner found his way through the maze, a spell upon his lips and in his fingers. When Jay Gold stumbled out, the spell was released. A bright blue aura engulfed Jay as he froze. Jay could move nothing but his eyes, looking left and right. The attacker, however, never entered into his field of vision.
The Invoker was on the hunt. He lurked in the shadows as well, seeking Okosan As he found him, he released the incantation. Okosan looked quickly at his own feet where dozens of vines sprouted from the earth and began wrapping their way around his body. Entangled, he didn't get a chance to see his attacker.
All the wizards in the cellar looked above to see the Great Wizards' Eye floating. "Who shall we ban from this place?" came the voice of the Great Wizard.
As they reached a consensus, plasmid was forced into the central Portal where he was consumed by a steady amount of Steam.
The Bag appeared once more and each of them not carrying a scroll replenished their arsenal for the night.
The Great Wizard called forth the magick of the White Board. It cleaned itself quickly then slowly, much slowly, other letters started to appear: Boquise, dd, Jay Gold, Gubbey.
The Great Wizard counted the noises: one, .... uh, .....
He waited for a bit but nothing came up. Only the sound of the Transmuter laying a nasty Immobilize on Okosan.
The Great Wizards' Eye floating once again: "Who shall we ban from this place?" came the voice of the Great Wizard.
The Great Wizard called forth the magick of the White Board. It cleaned itself quickly then slowly, much slowly, other letters started to appear: Jay Gold, Gubbey.
The Transmuter began mumbling "5, 1, 5, 0, 8, 7 ... delta delta", again and again. Somewhere deep in the labyrinth, DD stopped in his tracks, immobilized. The Mischiever found him in this state and quickly finished him off with a dagger. Who says wizards can't use daggers?
The Great Wizards' Eye floating once again over the Great Hall of Mysteries found them in disagreement, however Gubbey tripped was engulfed in the central Portal. The Portal closed and the Magic Bag reappeared.
The Great Wizard called forth the magick of the White Board and names started to appear: Jay Gold, Gubbey, dee_tot.
Dee started running in the Labyrinth. She had sent both an owl and a hawk, but watched helplessly as the Transmuter's spell had turned them to stone. As she circled back to where one of her familiars lay down, a dagger flying in the air hit her. The final prank of the last baddie had caught up with the last Sorcerer. --- The Mischiever was humming. His plan had worked and as he watched Jay running away he started the incantantion ... Q-F-A-S-A. The thunderbolt struck Jay sure enough. The Mischiever approached his target carefully, but instead of the usual fried chicken smell, he found none. Jay had been turned into a statue of pure gold. A fitting end for a transmuter.
The Great Wizard NoOne sent his ghouls to clean up the Labyrinth and invited Boquise the Mischiever for tea. Boq surprised him by changing the tea into coffee and they shared a laugh. After the Great Wizard almost choked to death. This was going to be a difficult apprenticeship.
Game over - Baddies win - Boquise gets MVP.
