The Daywalker's Revenge
|Link||Game thread: Blade Mafia BTSC threads|
|Size||13 Players (Medium)|
|Roster|| 1) DarthMask|
|First to Die|| 2) EDM|
|Last Remaining|| 9) maurice|
It began on May 20th, 2011 and ended in a Goodie win in D3 (May 26th, 2011).
- Order of actions is: Blocks (and trap) > Kill > everything else.
- If A kills B kills C, B and C both die, same situation for blocks. Chains of like actions still occur. RID kill if correct acts as a block and a kill, but is still blockable. Block is same order of priority as trap as far as potential for a chain
- Only RID Kill is a blocking kill
Vampires: Eliminate the “Humans” and the “Shadow Council”
- Deacon Frost – A fanatic vampire who dreams of power and wants to harvest the humans like crops. He is at odds with both Blade and the Shadow Council. He is vicious and cruel. If the Shadow Council is eliminated he becomes La Magra after night 3, making his kill unblockable or saveable. – Kill
- Quinn – Complete loyalty to Frost is probably misplaced since it is not reciprocated even remotely. He acts as Frost’s strong arm and can stop a player’s action each night. – Block
- Crease – Cocky and arrogant and a friend of Quinn’s Crease rushes carelessly into situations. His foolishness sometimes pays off and he’s able to observe actions. – Follow
- Officer Krieger – A familiar of Frost and a police officer, he is able to blend in much better than the vampires. He can walk in sunlight and holds civil authority he can misuse to gain or change information. He can make his vote count for 0, 1 or 2 each day, set the previous night. Cannot win as the sole remaining Vampire since he is human – Vote Manipulation
- Mercury – Frost’s vampire lover, she will do anything to save him. Her devotion relies on being able to identify him however. – Save
- Racquel – Seductive and alluring, she can entice people to enter dark alleyways and other areas they shouldn’t leaving them incapacitated. – Trap
- Pearl – A wasted gift, Pearl is a vampire literally incapable of fighting back. Pearl has become grossly obese but is able to find information based on sophisticated electronic equipment. – Spy
Humans: have BTSC. Must eliminate the “Vampires” and the “Shadow Council”, have a night kill that must have a player chosen to carry out.
- Blade – Half vampire, half human, he has the strength of the vampires but is able to walk in daylight. He seeks vengeance on vampires for the death of his mother and what he has become. His strength and sense of purpose allow him to kill each night if he knows his target. – RID Kill
- Abraham Whistler – His family slaughtered by a drifting vampire in front of his eyes, he has dedicated his life to exacting his revenge. He mentors and trains Blade while also making him improved weapons to fight the vampires. He has a knack for coming in at the last second to rescue Blade. Blade cannot die at night while he is alive. – Bodyguard and Block
- Dr. Karen Jensen – Her medical knowledge is key to her survival. She is able to induce changes in moods and opinions by injection. She can change the vote of any player during the day. If she changes the vote of the same player 3 times that person dies of an overdose. If Karen is abducted by Dr. Curtis Webb, she passes her vote manipulation to Blade. If spied she appears as a female vampire – Vote Redirect
House of Erebus: unfortunately for them, their own attempts at secrecy prevent them from knowing who each other are. They must eliminate Blade, Frost, Whistler and Quinn. Have a group kill that rotates among members randomly (true randomness not a cycle). If the four targets die and at least one of the members of the House lives, the game ends in a House of Erebus victory. If one member of the HoE targets the other for a kill, both their actions for the night will be prevented but the targetting member will learn their victim's identity. The kill will not go through. This will not out the members in the night post.
- Gitano Dragonetti – The leader of the Shadow Council and a pure blood vampire, he wants to live in relative hiding. Both Frost and Blade’s factions are detrimental to his cause and he must eliminate both. His years of secrecy have enabled him to infiltrate everything and learn anything. – Spy
- Francesca Vilonia – Another member of the Shadow Council, she is a pure blood vampire who shares the ideals and goals of Gitano. She is more manipulative with her actions and can seduce someone each night. – Block
- Dr. Curtis Webb: He is infatuated with Dr. Jensen and can’t rest until he has her. Must correctly RID her which removes them both from the game. If he is killed by a Vampire other than Blade he actually mutates and lives for 1 more night. During that time he gets 1 last chance to RID Karen before he dies. He is invulnerable to kills but not traps and blocks during that time. – RID Abduction (Karen Jensen only)
- maurice - Mercury
- Yuli - Deacon Frost
- EDM - Racquel
- unreality - Crease
- Marquessa - Quinn
- darth nox - Pearl
- Shadow7 - Officer Krieger
MVP: DarthMask - Blade
Day and Night Posts
|Born to a mother attacked by a vampire, the venom runs through his veins. It changed him, but not fully. He has the thirst, an ailment he’s able to deal with through a serum that quells the need to feed on blood. Additionally he has the strength of a vampire and regenerative abilities. What he doesn’t have is sensitivity to sunlight and a thought process like them. He also ages as humans do. Blade wants vengeance for what was done to his mother and for being what he is. He will not stop till the Vampires are eliminated.
The House of Erebus is concerned with the threat that Blade as become and even moreso with those that created that threat. As pureblood vampires they seek the elimination of the vampires that Deacon Frost leads as well as the Blade’s companions. Vampires must live peacefully or they will eliminate their own food source.
Deacon Frost and a band of followers were not born vampires but were bitten and turned. They are disgusted with the Shadow Council for not claiming their place on the top of the food chain. He plans to manifest his power as the blood god and take over the world, farming the humans like cattle.
Gitano Dragonetti cursed his fortune. He had just learned of Deacon Frost’s plans though he did not yet understand them. How would they try to revive this ancient vampire god? It wasn’t a plan at all, it was lunacy. La Magra wasn’t controllable as they thought. He sighed at his plight and began to think. To make it happen they’d need pure blooded vampires. None of their followers were of this type, and second he doubted they would be sacrificing themselves if it came to such a task. Realizing that he would be a target, he hurried off to warn the rest of the House of Erebus. As he left his desk a thought occurred to him, something about a catalyst, and then it was gone.
|The Humans were busy. They were cautiously optimistic. Blade had found Karen and brought her back to Whistler. She thought she could cure him and that brought hope, something they had been lacking for so long. Blade was running blind but he had a hunch. He geared up and left the safe house, heading into the night. One couldn’t really hunt vampires during the day, they tended to disappear.
Shadow7 was walking down the street huddled in her jacket against the cold night air. A gust of wind pulled her scarf away from her face and she pulled it back up quickly for several reasons. As she approached her destination she quickly looked around and ducked into an alley to her left. She stopped abruptly before a figure with his back turned to her, leaning over to pick something up. As he spun around while still crouched Blade sliced clean through her calves dropping her to his height and then thrust his sword through her heart. Hearing a scream he quickly turned around and threw his sword directly at the sound. He rushed to the crumpled body on the concrete and pulled his sword out of Darth Nox’s heart, then ran off into the darkness without taking the time to see if either body turned to ash.
Whistler was more subtle. He walked on the rooftop above Blade watching the events below. When his target came out of the door after hearing the commotion he simply dropped the bag he was carrying over the side of the overhang. As the bag hit maurice’s head he sagged to the ground. The potatoes in the sack spilled to the ground around him covering his body enough that no one would find him until morning.
Francesca happened upon maurice’s inert body and smiled with amusement. Someone else had already done her job.
Racquel watched maurice come to his current state with a grin. She had plans of her own. Since he was already out she simply carried him off into the night, securing him in a storage shed while she went about her business.
Quinn was irritated and restless. He wasn’t sure why Frost wouldn’t let him kill anyone but that didn’t mean he couldn’t have a little fun. As he was walking through the light fluttering of snow he saw someone in the distance approaching. As unreality grew closer and eventually passed by him, Quinn slammed his left fist into his abdomen, causing unreality to double over in pain. As he lurched forward, his predator threw his right elbow down on the back of his head. With unreality unconscious, Quinn propped him up on a street bench and leaned his hat forward making him look like any other drunk.
Francesca was thirsty after going too long without her drink of choice and decided to do something about it. She saw EDM walking across the street in front of her. She hurried across as well to head her off. She approached EDM from behind, careful to move in slowly. At the last second EDM turned around because she noticed a flicker of light. Too late, her turn only changed the position of Francesca’s teeth, prolonging her agony as she was drained dry.
Unable to do much about their situation, Gitano decided to figure some things out tonight. He saw his target going down and alley and positioned himself to view the situation. After watching the movement for several minutes he saw what he had come for and retreated back into the night.
Curtis was obsessed. He had been stalking his love for months and was no closer than he had been when he started. He had her narrowed down to a few people and decided that if he found her again he wouldn't give her a choice. She didn't know what was best for her after all. She would learn to love him if given the... "opportunity." Seeing a shadow in the distance he rushed forward. Alas this was not his Karen.
Several hours later unreality woke up not quite recalling how he’d gotten to this bench and shuffled off as the sun began to rise, rubbing the growing knot on the back of his head.
Maurice woke up as the sun rose and took survey of his new home. He was shackled heavily to a workbench but couldn’t reach a single tool. As he thrashed about he eventually toppled it over on top of him but still wasn’t free. He sighed with defeat but felt something cold on his hand. He maneuvered his fingers and realized that he had a file. He began moving the file back and forth about an inch at a time, the most he could manage with how tightly he was bound. At this rate he wouldn’t be free before the sun went down again
|The day had ended. Few had paid much attention, perhaps they were hiding from the sun.
Solman and Auramyna approached unreality and asked him what he had to say for himself... silence... They grabbed him by the arms and kicked the door to the club open. Beams of light from the setting sun shone in and they shielded their eyes. They closed their hoods over their faces tightly and drug unreality into the street. The plan was to shoot him in the head. They tossed a coin and Auramyna drew his gun.
Solman pulled back unreality's head, and his hood fell back on his neck. Unreality screamed in sudden anguish, and his face darkened quickly. They gasped in horror, realizing their mistake but too late. The skin began to flake away from unreality's face and he jumped to his feet. He started to run down the street as his body fell apart around him...
Maurice heard unreality's screams and filed furiously at his restraints. The screams were growing closer, he was almost free. Finally the shackle broke and his hands were free. He kicked open the door just as the sun set behind the mountains in the distance. In the faint glow of dusk he could see a pile of clothes and a stream of ash back up the street.
He recognized the clothes. They were Crease's.
|Maurice picked up unreality's shirt and sighed. He hadn't even been present for the decision to kill this poor bastard. He walked back in toward the town, dropping the shirt somewhere along the way. As he stepped out of an alleyway into the main street the moon slipped behind a cloud, causing almost complete darkness... The perfect cover for... everything.
Francesca walked slowly down the sidewalk pausing between light-posts in the shadows long enough to make sure she was clear before preceding to the next patch of darkness through the yellow light. During one of her pauses she saw a figure across the street flittering in and out of the lights their. She slowly made her way across the empty street to follow. She stayed in the middle of the street lowered to the ground following her target along its path. Her target turned the corner and she hurried to the sidewalk and peeked around the building. She saw Onetruth looking at a map and started to move in. She was getting closer when Onetruth stopped to turn around, looking into the night. Francesca froze in place willing Onetruth to look past her into the night. Onetruth seemed not to notice her and continued on her journey. Francesca turned down the next road making a detour. She got far enough ahead on a side street that she came back up to the road Onetruth was on. She saw her a few blocks away and leaned against the brick wall. She unbuttoned her overcoat and bent her left leg, straightening her right out in front of her. Onetruth saw her as she approached and walked cautiously. As she began to near, she stepped into the street to avoid too close of contact and Francesca pulled her dress up her leg to show her intentions. Onetruth couldn't help but stare and began drifting her course closer to this bold woman. Just as she caught herself and looked up, a purse with very non-conventional contents smashed into her right temple. Francesca stood upright and buttoned her coat, walking down the street as if nothing happened.
Solman exited the night club he had chosen for the evening and stumbled on the steps forgetting there were 2 that led from the sidewalk up to the door. He saw something on the ground up ahead and rushed forward to see what it was. As he realized it was a body he looked further up the street to see a woman walking away from where he was. Before he could yell Francesca spun on her heals and fired 4 times. The silencer masked the deed but she knew her luck was running short so she hurried off into the night. She had learned several things over the past few years. The first was that bullets were cheap so you better make sure. The second was that luck ran out at some point and she didn't intend to be anywhere near the dead body slumped over the unconscious one when it did.
Whistler had dozed off and woke up startled. After a brief look around he realized he was alone and quickly dressed and headed out the door. As he drove down the street he kept his eyes peeled. He never felt completely safe anymore, and he credited his being alive to that fact. He slowed down for a red light and saw someone begin to dash toward him. Were they crossing the street, were they coming for him? He wasn't about to wait to find out. He peeled out turning around the corner as the person stopped at the side of where his truck had just been. His heartbeat quickened and he decided they would never expect him to come back. He made a quick u-turn and backtracked. Marquessa looked up just in time to see the headlights of the truck rush past her to the left as Whistler flung open the drivers' side door, knocking her out cold.
Frost was furious. The vampire ancients were trying to hold him back. Vampires should be on top of the world. He left his lair and walked brazenly down the street. He entered a night club and motioned to the bartender as he walked to a booth and sat down. As he pompously surveyed the room 2 gorgeous girls came and sat on either side of him. His manner of greeting them was to squeeze the thigh of the one on his left and turn to make out with the one on his right. When he decided he was done he simply pushed her away. She moved over a few feet and stared at her drink. Bored after only a few minutes Frost put his left hand on the table and climbed on top of it. He stomped on two glasses in front of him and hopped down off the other side. He then strode out of the club. As the door shut behind him and the sounds of the music and cheering subsided, he walked toward a bar with fewer vampires. Perhaps here he would find the drink he was truly after. Before he even got to the door Q-Cumber stumbled out the door. Humans were so weak when intoxicated. Frost stepped to the side to let him pass and made a cursory glance around him. He then shoved Q into the wall and sunk his teeth into his neck. No one passing him realized what he was doing until it was far too late. After he had had his drink he was stronger than before, his blood was on fire. More proof that the humans were inferior. Their drink made them weak. He rolled his head from shoulder to shoulder cracking his neck and walked into the night with Q-Cumber's blood dripping from his face.
Blade was on the prowl. He was perched on the roof of a church watching the streets below. Several people came and went but never the one he was looking for. After several hours he decided he was wrong and climbed up the peak of the roof and dropped down on the other side. He looked down the street to the left and then went right certain no one had seen him. After about a block he saw Hirkala run out of an alleyway. He threw up his left arm and Hirkala's neck slammed into it, his feet continuing forward. Before he hit the ground there was a pistol pressed to the left side of his chest and the trigger pulled... twice. Two silver bullets entered his heart, enough to kill anyone. Blade didn't have a silencer equipped and took off running down the street before anyone was able to find him.
Dragonetti was on a mission. He emerged from his study and climbed the stairs to the third floor. As he passed the landing he glanced out the window and saw something. He hurried up the steps and removed a pair of night-vision goggles from the cabinet returning to a window. After a few seconds of focusing and getting the settings right he was able to identify someone. He paused for a moment then returned the goggles satisfied with the results.
|As the day lingered on the vampires hid indoors. Days were miserable for them. Some pondered moving further north for less sunlight hours. Yuli was offered up early and it seemed he would be executed before night fell. In desperation he pleaded that he was truly a vampire. Someone suggested throwing him into the sunlight but at the last minute maurice said that would only prove he was right if he died. The opposite of what they wanted.
As the sun was setting and Yuli was being dragged to the door auramyna and maurice changed their minds. It seemed the threat now lay on Marquessa.
Since Yuli's life had been spared he helped drag a shackled Marquessa into the street. DarthMask and Onetruth pulled out bats intending to make this painful.
"This is what you get for not speaking up at all." Marquessa lifted her head "you fools..." Just as the sun was setting the clouds parted and a ray of light hit her face. As Quinn was illuminated the others shook their heads. How could they be wrong again!?
Yuli and auramyna ran forward but Quinn was already writhing in agony. He stripped off his shirt to speed up the process and his skin blackened and fell away, exposing a hollow chest cavity and finally his bones which deteriorated much the same.
Those left picked up his clothes and headed back inside with their eyes to the ground, wondering what the night would bring.
|The night was eerily quiet. The air was still and crisp. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and the full moon shone down on the streets below, casting shadows around the edges of the taller buildings.
Blade was cautious tonight. He knew he had tested his luck so far, but he planned to test it once more. He leaned against the wall of the closed library and stared out at the club entrance across the street. A few people came and went as the night wore on but he never moved an inch. Finally auramyna walked past the club heading in Blade's direction but across the street. He waited until auramyna passed under a streetlight directly across from him and saw her face. Realizing his suspicions were right, Blade made his way down the street sticking to the shadows. As auramyna crossed the street a few blocks up Blade flicked his lighter open and closed. Auramyna looked up nervously and heard "need a light?" Before she could react she was sprayed in the face with an obnoxious but harmless fluid. She laughed and twisted the top on a pole she had in her hands releasing the shaft and withdrawing a long slender blade. As she reached her arm back the lighter arced slowly through the air, rotating in front of her. Her face went white as she realized what had happened. The fluid on her face burst into flame and she waved her arms in front of her. Blade drew his own sword and sliced clean through auramyna's body, leaving her in two diagonal pieces on the sidewalk and walked into the night.
Mercury watched from the club entrance as auramyna was rended. She followed from a distance as the culprit walked with a purpose further into the city. Blade saw maurice up ahead and drew his still-bloody sword. He charged ahead raising his hand above him intent on ending maurice's life. As he closed the gap he stumbled over something, losing his footing and tumbling to the ground. As he spun on his heels popping to his feet he saw Mercury run around a corner ahead. He changed his course and charged after her but by the time he turned the corner she was nowhere to be seen. He was done for the night.
Frost licked his lips and set off after his target. He was thirsty and no one could stop him tonight. He saw Onetruth looking up and down the street ahead and figured she'd be a perfect target. He walked calmly up behind her and grabbed her left wrist spinning her gently to face him. As she stared into his eyes she tried to remember where she had seen him. Frost's eyes glistened as he smiled at her. He took a few steps backwards holding her hand gently. She followed him seeing no harm in this man. Only when he pulled her closer to him and she saw his teeth glint in the moonlight did she suspect something, but by then it was too late. Anyone passing by simply thought they were in a romantic embrace but when Frost walked away Onetruth slumped to the ground, the blood drained from her pale white face... as well as the rest of her body.
|Mercury was confused. There were two men in front of her claiming to be her lover and for the life of her she couldn't figure out which one was lying. How had it come to this? Her decision and ability to recognize Deacon Frost held fate with it. She sighed and walked over to a table and sat down. She had to think.
Blade and Frost sat in opposite corners of the room reluctant to move. Both knew this decision was up to the female vampire so distraught in the middle of the room. They had stated their cases and called each other out. At least either way this would be the last day they had to play these silly games.
Blade laughed to himself thinking of all the death he'd caused. He'd killed off the House of Erebus and need not worry about them anymore. Although they had never been much of a threat. They were too weak. Too calculated. They needed to take risks and not taking them had actually gotten them killed. He thought back to the night he'd killed krieger. That miserable familiar. How could he possibly think that Frost would ever turn him. He had done him a favor. At least he died relatively quickly. It had been fortunate that Pearl had decided to venture outside that night as well. What a sight he had been in the giant scooter. A disgrace to vampires. He had died like a true coward. A useless one at that.
Frost breathed slowly. He willed her to listen to him. To remember who he was. It wasn't that he actually loved her, it was simply that he wanted to live. He hadn't gotten the chance to kill the House of Erebus himself but he had gotten blood samples from each. If he lived through the day he would perform the ritual tonight. He had played his cards right and in just a few days and nights he had eliminated the useless Dr. Webb as well as the meddlesome Whistler. How embarrassing to have been showed up before by that old hack. Of course it was less embarrassing to say that Blade had done it.
Mercury didn't have much time left so she made up her mind. She walked over to the bar, both men watching her. She slipped behind the counter and reached up onto the shelf. She took down a dusty bottle and blew on the label. She sighed and set it on the bar. She reached down and grabbed three shot glasses pouring a full measure of the mysterious liquid in each. Blade and Frost looked at each other curiously. Neither knew what was happening.
She then took her shot back to her table leaving the other two next to each other on the bar. She lifted the shot above her head indicating for the other two to go get theirs. They both pushed back their chairs and cautiously moved forward both looking at each other and neither at the bar.
As they reached the bar both looked down. The red liquid in the shot glass was inconsistent. It swirled around in separate parts, less than ideally mixed. Both looked up at the bottle but neither could make out any writing. Regardless they both knew this drink wouldn't kill them so what could it hurt. They reached forward and lifted the glasses, watching the dim light sparkle on the surface of the liquid.
They looked at each other, ironically thinking it was fitting that they salute each other for a battle well-fought before one of them died. They clinked glasses and lifted them to their lips tilting their heads back.
DarthMask tilted his head back taking his drink. The warm liquid was delightful. This taste was one of power. This was pure bone marrow. He wondered why it looked so oddly separated but before he could get very far on his thought he felt an odd twinge in his neck. He tried to move his head back forward but as he did it left the base of his neck. What an odd feeling he thought for the fleeting second before the neurons ceased to connect his brain to his body. His head rolled to the left side and dropped on to the floor.
Mercury looked down and swiped with the blade again, severing his body, and then sinking to her knees hoping she'd made the right decision. Through her tears she saw something that gave her hope. She wiped her eyes and looked at the head lying on the floor. She recognized the face staring back...
Deacon Frost breathed a sigh of relief and briefly embraced Mercury before picking up Blade's head and walking out of the bar. He watched the last rays of light coming over the bar into the street fade and stepped out into the street. He made his way down the road turning several times in blind alleys. He approached the entrance he needed and looked around before realizing there was no one left to fear. He opened the door and headed down 12 flights of stairs.
He placed the head at the top of a large funnel and took 2 viles of blood from his coat. He poor them out in the slowly seeping blood still coming from the base of the severed head. He then went down another 2 flights of stairs and stepped to a spigot of sorts. He looked into it and could see blood flowing very slowly toward him. It was moving agonizingly slow. He needed to have enough... He had done everything right, if it didn't work now for a lack of blood he would be incensed.
He stepped away for a moment and pulled a small blade from his waste. He drew it across is left wrist and blood spurted out momentarily before diminishing to a slow ooze. As the blood pulsed from his arm he looked over and saw a drop of blood coming from the faucet. It was hanging. He moved agonizingly slowly as he dashed across the room to catch it before it fell.
The drop of blood lost contact with the pipe and began its fall to the floor. Only a few feet away he dove forward to catch it, extending his left arm ahead of him....
