Corporate Battle was a hybrid game designed and hosted by Coolkid with each player being indy with 3 enemies and 9 neutrals.
It began on May 10, 2015 and ended in a 4-way Indie win in D4 (May 19th).
This is a four faction game in which rather than win with your faction, your win condition is to eliminate all of the competition. The last living member (corporation) of each faction wins. Game ends when there is one or less member of each faction alive.
Any player may PM any other player at any time, given that the host is CCed. A BTSC may be set up for three or more players if they all PM the host with the request. Additional player may be added to a btsc once set up via a majority vote, which will take effect at the end of the night or day. Players may as well be banished via a majority vote.
A corporation may use an ability from its resource pool each night, however resources are limited, and once consumed, are gone. Blocked actions are not considered to be consumed.
The vote x2 must be selected the night prior to be used, and no other ability may be used with it, however the player may select not to use it during the day. The vote x2 cannot be blocked.
Hostile Takeover (Kill) x1
Sabotage (RID kill) x1
Advertising Campaign (Redirect) x1
Bailout (Resurrect) x1
Merger (Vote x2) x1
Distribution (Block) x2
Government Subsidy (Save) x2
Corporate Espionage (Role spy) x2
Shown in np: successful kill attempts, necessary saves, blocks, resurrect.
Kills are not blocking.
RID kill and vote manip cannot be redirected. Multiple redirects on the same player will fail.
In case of a tie, all tied players are lynched.
RID kill, resurrect and vote manip cannot be redirected. Multiple redirects on the same player will fail.
Resurrect will be necessarily be shown in np
Silicon Valley Saveurs:
Comments: Plasmid began contacting every player early. He has formed a btsc with Nana, Barc, dee, and dd. He attempted to reach out the bluebie as well, the only player who did, and is being killed for his troubles. Plasmid and Aura enter into a war of cats and dogs. Plas kills Aura, but she is saved by Araver. Memorable quote of the game, from Aura to Plas: "If you redirect me I swear I will sic my army of dogs on to your pretty little kitties. You are treading on thin kitty litter, boy." Aura is quite confused. Araver decided to change his action to saving her without informing her as much, as far as I can tell. Plasmid believes the random kill by Sinsun and save by Araver were orchestrated by Aura. Plasmid now believes that Barc and Araver are allied. They have not conversed at all as far as I can tell. Sorry, Plasmid. Nana was the one who informed Aura of her being redirected but now believes Aura has another mole inside their BTSC. Slick knows dee is in his faction but I am uncertain whether he realises he needs to kill her. Sinsun began making his move attempting to play dee, dd and Waffle against Aura and Araver.
I was very pleased that every single player in this game was fairly active and attempted to make behind the scenes deals or alliances with other players. Plasmid certainly took the most initiative at the start, and was really fairly fortunate in the distribution of players he gathered to form his five member btsc. However, his initiative back-fired a bit when it came to reaching out to the new player and ultimately resulted in his demise.
Aura really took plasmid's early advantage and turned it against him by presenting his alliance as a threat to the other players as well as creating distrust inside the btsc itself. Araver's initiative in saving Aura was instrumental as well in preserving her influence in the game and as a result, the power of the alliance they subsequently formed.
Dr. Saab played well, it is unfortunate that he decided to step out of the game, however yuiop took on the daunting task of stepping in quite smoothly.
Sinsun played the sides against each other very well towards the end game and nearly succeeded.
Waffleboy gave a great effort as well, however he had the mis-fortune of rolling against Aura, who I believe is the best persuasive player on the site.
All in all, I believe Aura was able to have the most influence on other players to achieve her goals and hence is awarded the MVP for the game.
