Titanomachy was a game designed and hosted by Artificial I on BrainDen.
It began on April 28th, 2010 and ended in a Titan win in Day 8 (15 May 2010).
Nominated for Best Mafia Game Brandos 2010.
Game Mechanics
Titanomachy was a 6 vs 6 faction game with 5 recruitable independents (no more than 3 per team) with attainable BTSC by RID Guess, an inheritable ability of each faction leader. Every role had a secret ability in addition to its public ability.
Rules
Board
This game is played on a hexagonal game board, which is shown closer to the end of this post. Each character can move up to 1 space per night unless otherwise specified. Melee attacks only hit if the target is within 1 space or on the same space as the attacker. For ranged attacks, the target must be in a straight line from the attacker, along one of the 6 directions perpendicular to the sides of the hexagonal space the attacker is occupying. Below are the role descriptions for each character. In the descriptions, if the action is described as being against a player, then the target given in the night action PM to me must be a player’s username. If the action is described as being against a character, then the target given in the night action PM to me must be a character role. Each role will also have at least one secret ability, so stay wary!
Starting Board |
---|
Ending Board |
---|
This is the starting terrain for the battle. As part of your Night 1 actions, each player chooses a valid starting position depending on their faction. Titans can start on any space from 1 to 6. Olympians can start on any space from 14 to 19. Independents can start on any space from 5 to 15. The different game spaces are outlined below.
Game Board Spaces
- Plain terrain (Light green): Normal space
- Water (Blue): Can be used by Oceanus and Poseidon for special abilities
- Thick Forest (Dark green): Provides cover from ranged attacks. Attackers must be within melee range to attack people in the forest.
- Volcano (Red circle): Weakens players by making them more vulnerable to attack. Kill chances against them are brought closer to 100 by 50% (so 50 becomes 75, 70 becomes 85, 90 becomes 95, etc.)
- Mount Olympus and Mount Othrys are isolated from the rest of the battlefield. When standing on either Mount, the only actions against you have to come from the same space. Meaning, if you are on a Mount space, you can only affect, and be affected by, other people on the same Mount space.
Lynches
Lynches are controlled by the sisters of fate. When someone is lynched, two of the three sisters will appear, and no pair will appear more than twice in a row.
- If Atropos, the eldest of the three sisters appears, the player is killed.
- If Lakhesis, the middle sister appears, the player is weakened and loses their powers for the night, but not killed unless Atropos is with her.
- If Clotho, the youngest sister appears, the sacrificed player gets to make a plea for an independent, and each independent only needs 1 plea to be recruited.
Either team can recruit a maximum of 3 independents. After being lynched, whether the player survives or not, the player’s race is revealed in the day post.

- Independents - Each independent has either Titan or God next to their name. This has nothing to do with the factions and doesn’t impact recruitment at all. It’s there because when a player is lynched, their race will be revealed (either Titan or God).

Prologue: Seeds of Vengeance |
---|
“FATHER!!” Kronos’ voice boomed in the night sky. Bare-chested and wielding the scythe forged by his mother, he shouted again. “FATHER! COME DOWN AND FACE ME!” The colours in the sky swirled and mixed together until they formed the image of the sole of a huge bare foot. The foot came crashing down to Earth, landing in the middle of the ocean. It was followed by another foot, equally large, which landed next to the first, causing tidal waves in the ocean. Ouranos, Father Sky and sire of the Titans, stood ankle deep in the great ocean. Kronos looked up at his father from the shoreline. Though Kronos was as large as a mountain, his size paled in comparison to the awesomeness of Ouranos, who stood as tall as the sky. “You have imprisoned your children in Tartarus for long enough!” shouted Kronos. “Gaia has freed me, and armed me, so that I can finally kill you.” Kronos jumped with the strength that only a Titan can possess, and landed on Ouranos’ knee. He scaled the mighty deity, cutting and slashing him as he climbed. He also ensured that Ouranos would never be a father to anyone else ever again. When he reached his father’s throat, Kronos paused. “Any last words father?” asked Kronos. Without resisting at all, Ouranos answered, “I knew this moment would come. It is the price I must pay for what I did before you were born. But know this, young one. Just as you have murdered your father on this night, so shall you suffer the same fate!” With these words, Kronos stared deep into Ouranos’ eyes, trying to determine if he was telling the truth. But looking into his father’s eyes filled his heart with greater vengeance than ever before. He raised his scythe high, and with one fell strike, decapitated his father where he stood. Ouranos’ body collapsed down into the sea, and Kronos jumped off in order to land back on the shore. Looking at his father’s freshly decaying corpse, Kronos once more considered those last words. “So shall you suffer the same fate!” With a heavy burden on his mind, he turned around and headed back to Tartarus in order to free his remaining brothers and sisters. --- Several years later, Kronos is sitting on a golden throne in his temple in Crete. His wife, Rhea, can be heard across the countryside, screaming. Kronos sat in silence, waiting for the screaming to stop. In the other room, Rhea was screaming in pain. It was not the labour of childbirth that was causing her pain, but the knowledge of what was going to happen after she gave birth. Gaia, taking the form of a matronly old woman, entered the room to aid Rhea. “Stay strong my dear,” said Gaia. “We have a plan this time.” “I won’t let it happen again!” screamed Rhea, and with one final push, she gave birth to Zeus. Gaia quickly snatched up the baby Zeus, wrapped him in some cloth and headed for the window. As she reached the window, an enormous eagle swooped in and perched itself on the window sill. It grabbed the baby in its beak and took off far into the distance. As Gaia was doing this, Rhea took the opportunity to grab a large stone from the ground and wrap it in swaddling clothes in order to disguise it as a baby. She cradled the stone in her arms in preparation to fool Kronos when he arrived. Kronos was not far away. He had heard the screaming stop and was now traversing the countryside in order to reach Rhea. As large as a mountain, Kronos ripped the roof off of the house in which Rhea waited for him. Gaia had already disappeared, leaving only Rhea cradling the pretend Zeus. Kronos stared down at Rhea, and she understood what to do. She left the stone on the bed and backed away. Kronos reached down with his mighty hand and snatched up what he thought was the baby Zeus, and then he brought his hand to his mouth and swallowed the stone in one gulp. --- The years passed slowly, as Gaia raised Zeus in secrecy. Gaia told Zeus how his father had devoured is older brothers and sisters, just as he had tried to devour Zeus as a baby. Zeus grew up loathing his father for this, and vowing to take revenge once he became strong enough. After a lifetime of training, Zeus emerged from his cave on Mount Ida, the place he called home, he prepared for his journey. “You don’t have to do this,” Gaia said to Zeus as he was leaving. “I saved you from your father so that you could live peacefully.” “You expect me to just let him get away with what he’s done?” Zeus replied. “He killed my brothers and sisters, and he deserves punishment!” “He was only acting out of fear!” Gaia responded. “Fear of the prophecy that he would be overthrown by his own children.” “Well in that case, he was right to be afraid of me.” Zeus calmly retorted. Zeus then left Mount Ida and went in search of Kronos’ palace. --- Finding Kronos at the foot of Mount Othrys, Zeus met his father face to face for the first time. Zeus had armed himself with a sword he had forged in preparation for this confrontation. As Zeus approached his father, rage built up inside him and the sky began to rumble with thunder and crackle with lightning. “You will pay for what you’ve done to me!” shouted Zeus. Kronos stared down at his son, disgusted. Quickly coming to the realization that Rhea had betrayed him, he spat at the ground in front of Zeus. “You pathetic being, you should never have been born!” And as Kronos shouted these words, his immense fists slammed down on Zeus’ position. Zeus was quick though. He jumped out of the way then jumped on Kronos’ forearm and began to run up towards his chest. Kronos raised his arms attempting to shake him off, so Zeus jumped towards him and held on to his father’s stomach. With a ferocious war cry, Zeus stabbed his sword deep into Kronos’ stomach and tore it across from one side to the other. Kronos howled in pain and buckled to his knees. As the blood gushed out of his midsection, something else unexpected happened. Zeus’ lost brothers and sisters came pouring out of Kronos’ stomach too. Fully matured, they had grown up and come of age inside Kronos. After seeing all his children alive in front of him, Kronos stood back up. Wounded, but not dead, Kronos said to Zeus, “It will take more than simple blade to kill me, son.” Kronos then let out a mighty shout, and his nephews Atlas and Prometheus came running from the horizon. They stood on either side of Kronos, like bodyguards protecting their leader. Kronos turned back to Zeus and said, “Give up now boy, you have no chance in defeating us.” “I will defeat you, and I will sentence you to an eternity of torment and punishment. Death is too good for scum like you!” replied Zeus. Starting to regain his strength, Poseidon stood up and sided with Zeus. “And we will help you slay this tyrant,” he added. “You have started a war here that you cannot possibly win!” bellowed Kronos. “The Titans are the greatest beings to ever walk this Earth! Your puny rebellion will be crushed!” And with these words, the three titans turned and left for the top of Mount Othrys. As the Titans left, Zeus and Poseidon helped their weakened siblings to their feet, then retreated to Mount Olympus. They had to prepare themselves for what was ahead, for it would surely be the greatest war ever waged. |
Night 1: Close Calls |
---|
As night fell, Aphrodite became lonely and decided she would visit peace*out. They spent all night together, and peace*out enjoyed herself so much that she forgot to take any other actions for the night. -- As the other warriors prepared themselves for the dawn of battle. Hephaestus stole himself to a place of seclusion and forged there one of his best weapons ever. He gave this to Hermes the messenger, with a note to deliver as well: Dear Zeus, I have forged this lightning bow of nighthelm steel for you to bare tonight. I have enhanced it so it is impossible to miss a fatal shot, as long as you are aiming in the right direction. However, all enchantments I have worked into it will corrode away by the morning, and will be just as strong and accurate as any other weapon by then. May it bring about a speedy resolution to this dreadful war -Hephaestus Hermes, delivered the bow to Zeus, but Zeus turned it down saying that he did not desire any bloodshed on this first night. -- Typhon on the other hand desired nothing but chaos, and had nothing but killing on his mind. Typhon saw his target in sight, xBeej, who was spending his night under cover that he thought would protect him. Silent like a snake, Typhon slithered beneath the leaves, anxious for his first meal of battle. It wasn’t until Typhon raised his head to strike that xBeej realized he was in danger. He deftly jumped to the side as Typhon struck. He missed, but he was not defeated yet! Typhon whipped his tail, knocking xBeej to the ground, then closed in for the kill. But just when xBeej thought it was all over, the groung started to shake around him. He started sinking into the ground as land around him became flooded. “Thank Gaia!” xBeej proclaimed as he was extracted out of the range of Typhon. Typhon however was so furious that his prey had eluded him, that he became enraged and vowed to himself that he would sate his hunger the following night. -- After hearing the battle that just occurred, Hyperion rose up into the sky and cast his light on space number 12, however no one was there to be seen. Night 1 has ended and Day 1 is beginning. No one was killed but there was a close call. Day 1 will end at midnight tomorrow EST, so you have 22.5 hours to get your votes in. Remember to use different colours when voting for different players so that it's easier to keep track of. Below is also the updated map for the next night. |
Day 1: Laying Low |
---|
Phaze stood tall above the water, but he suspected that the end was near. As dusk fell across the land, the Sisters of Fate approached Phaze to decide his fate. Clotho, the youngest sister was the first to appear. “Due to your dedication to this battle, I will grant you the chance to gain a replacement so that the Titans may still rise as victors,” proclaimed Clotho. “In that case,” replied Phaze. “Capture Typhon for me. His unbridled fury will surely lead the Titans to victory!” With these words, Clotho wove a large strand of thread into an immense net. She flew over the battlefield to find Typhon skulking around. Throwing the net over him, Typhon became trapped. He tried tearing through the threaded net, but it was imbued with magical strength. Typhon eventually conceded to Clotho’s demands, and left the scene to join Kronos and his Titans. “I can rest easy now, knowing that my brothers will be protected,” said Phaze to himself, but just as he said this, Atropos emerged from behind him and pressed her abhorred shears to his neck. “For your foolish attempts at tricking people with your clever code, and your refusal to lay low, I condemn you to spend the rest of your days in the underworld.” Atropos raised her shears and, with a swift motion, sliced Phaze into pieces. “I love my job.” She said to herself, as she anxiously awaited to see if she would be called upon again tomorrow. |
Night 2: First Casualty |
---|
Remembering the wonderful time they had last night, Aphrodite visited peace*out again. This time, peace*out enjoyed herself so much that she opened up to Aphrodite. She even told her her real name. -- Frustrated that Zeus had decided to not attack the first night, Hephaestus set up his tools again and went to work forging a weapon for Artemis. He sent her a new bow, along with this letter. Dear Artemis, I know you can shoot your bow at some with key accuracy, but not at everyone else. Thus, I send to you this arrow of the very rare lodesmentil, the substance the great temples are made of. It is guaranteed to hit any target you are remotely aiming at, for within the next few hours. Be cautious, though, and aim wisely. Good luck to you. -Hephaestus As Hermes left with the weapon, Hephaestus silently prayed to himself that Artemis would not misfire tonight. However, he would again be disappointed. -- Zeus patrolled the battlefield and found his target within sight. Zeus approached Gmaster face to face. “It’s time for you to die at my hand, Gmaster.” Zeus said, as he drew his sword. The two men met head on and battled all throughout the night, until both men became too fatigued to even lift their blades. “It seems you failed to best me Zeus!” said Gmaster as he retreated out of sight. Zeus, disappointed, was not disenchanted, and vowed to make up for this loss another day. -- Away from where Zeus was fighting, Oceanus rose up out of the water and prepared himself for attack. Off in the distance, he could see xBeej, still on his guard after surviving his attack from Typhon the night before. Oceanus summoned a huge wall of water from beneath him and launched it at xBeej. The massive tidal wave was enormous enough to drown even the largest of beasts. xBeej struggled against the waves, but he wasn’t strong enough. After seeing xBeej’s body drenched on the ground, Oceanus said a quick prayer for his soul and receded back into the water, not be heard from for the rest of the night. |
Day 2: Silence |
---|
All was quiet on Day 2 of the Great Battle. Polly Migo and jeffery huddled together as they awaited their fate. Just then two Sisters of Fate descended from the sky and landed right in front of them. “I have measured the threads of your lives,” proclaimed Lahkesis. “And I will cut them.” continued Atropos. “Any last requests?” Polly Migo and jeffery said nothing. “So be it,” said Lahkesis, as she drew two long pieces of thread from under her cloak. She stretched them out long in front of her as Atropos drew her abhorred shears from under her cloak. With a quick snip, Atropos cut both threads, effectively ending the lives of Polly Migo and jeffery. The two silent players instantly collapsed to the ground, and remained silent forever more. -- As this sacrifice was happening, seemingly from beyond the grave, Light of Hyperion was cast on space 14 revealing the location of kody to all. |
Night 3: Grudge Matches |
---|
After 2 nights of having no fruit for his labour, Hephaestus spent the night outdoing all of his previous work to create his signature sword, made out of the infamous smintarion iron. "If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself," he muttered under his breath, as he slunk away into the night searching for his target. -- Oceanus rose up out of the water again and set his sights on musicluvr. He summoned a huge pillar of water which spun around and solidified into an enormous icicle nearly a mile in length. He hurled the icicle across the ocean and pierced musicluvr in the back. She didn’t stand a chance. -- Meanwhile, Atlas shook the earth as he chased peace*out. His massive arms swung at her as she dodged every blow. “You seem distracted Atlas.” taunted peace. “You’ll have to try harder than that!” She yelled back as she fled the scene, escaping Atlas’ grip yet again. -- “This battle has gone on long enough!” yelled Zeus as he surveyed the battle field. He unsheathed his sword yet again and prepared to attack Gmaster. “Not so fast, Zeus!” Shouted Kronos. “I knew you would be up to no good tonight!” as he yelled these words, Zeus could feel the grip on his sword loosening. He could no longer raise his blade, and his target took this opportunity to escape. -- After intervening, Kronos turned around and set his sights on his own target, Framm. Framm saw Kronos as he raised his scythe above his head and was able to dodge to the side as the immense blade came crashing down. The two men battled all night until the break of dawn. Exhausted, Kronos said to Framm, “we will have to save this grudge match for a later night,” and he turned around and left. Framm, feeling that he got extremely lucky tonight, retreated as well, in hopes to best his opponent tomorrow night. |
Day 3: Calm Before the Storm |
---|
Dusk descended upon the land as Day 3 came to an end. Framm and Molly Mae approached each other. “Long day,” they each said to each other. They sat and waited for the Sisters to show themselves. First Clotho appeared, and Framm quickly spoke up. “I want Aphrodite!” he shouted, but Clotho looked down at him. “I’m sorry my dear,” she said, “Aphrodite has already moved on to another existence.” Disenchanted, Framm sat back down as Molly stood up. “The Titans need the Earth-Mother, send us Gaia!” she said. Clotho flew to the earth and sewed her thread into the soil. She then pulled with all her strength and out of the ground rose Gaia. “I will join your side, Molly,” said Gaia, and she crossed the battlefield to meet with the other Titans. “Now for your punishments!” said a voice from the sky. Framm and Molly looked, but they did not see Atropos, instead they saw Lahkesis. “You two will not die this day, but I have measured your threads, and I have not given either of you much longer in this world. You will both remain weakened and powerless for the night. Trust in your allies to protect you.” With these last words, Clotho and Lahkesis left and Framm and Molly parted ways. A dark foreboding fog descended on the rest of the battlefield, and many of the players felt chills down their spines, as they felt that this would be a dangerous night to be alive. |
Night 4: Determination |
---|
Hephaestus hung his head in shame; nothing he did had worked thus far. He prepared his tools and forged the strongest, toughest item that has ever been seen by any god. After he was finished, he quickly forged a silver box to hide it in, and wrote a note in an ink only the intended recipient of this item could read. He gave these to Hermes and whispered in his ear who he wanted this delivered to. He knew the god he sent this to could not give this one up. -- Atlas made holes in the ground as he scoured the battlefield. Everyone was looking to attack Framm tonight, but no one seemed to be within reach. Just then, Atlas cam across another target he deemed worthy of his attention. “Kody!” he bellowed, “You die by my hand tonight!” Atlas lunged at kody and with his mighty arms, pummelled him into the ground. Atlas was relentless. Rage flowed through him, his fists causing fissures the propagate in the mountainside. He didn’t stop punching even after he was sure kody had expired. After tiring himself out, Atlas got up and started to walk away. As he was leaving however, he heard laughing coming from the hole where he left kody. “Ha ha ha!” laughed kody. “You’ll have to try harder than that!” And with this retort, kody leapt out of the ground and out of sight. |
Day 4: Somber Tidings |
---|
Framm descended Mount Olympus alone at the end of the fourth day of battle. Having faced death countless times over past days and nights, he no longer feared what was in store for him. Clotho appeared to Framm as he descended the mountain. “Please, let me find another to take your place before you leave,” said Clotho. “My Gods need the guidance of Rhea,” replied Framm. “Of course,” said Clotho, as she cried a single tear. “You ask of me the one thing I cannot deliver.” Framm looked away in disgust, disappointed that Clotho again failed to help him. As he looked away however, his eyes fell on Atropos. “Fret not young one,” she jeered. “You will be joining Rhea soon enough.” She ended Framm’s life there on the spot, and then disappeared, leaving Olympus to mourn their lost brother. |
Night 5: Hard to Kill |
---|
Hephaestus grabbed his hammer and pounded the ground in rage. The Olympian's leader was destroyed, so he knew the Olympians were down. But if he was going down, he would take as many Titans with him as he could. He forged himself a great sword; and searched around for a target. Unfortunately, there was no-one around. -- Molly Mae stood in the water, preparing her actions for the night, when beside her appeared the great Poseidon. “The sea is my domain!” shouted Poseidon. “You’re not hurting anyone tonight!” A great cyclone of water rose and began to envelope Molly, until the water was cut in half by a giant scythe. “The sea may be your domain,” retorted Kronos, “but you should really try being less predictable.” Kronos delivered an earth-shattering punch to Poseidon, sending him flying back into the water, thereby clearing the way for Molly’s plans to come to fruition. -- Atlas, furious from his encounter with kody the previous night, went out in search again for his target. He found kody within range, but was so tired from running all night across the plains, that he was not able to land a single blow. Kody ran from Atlas, content about surviving another attack, when he was blindsided by another attack. An enormous fist made of water had knocked him to the ground and was still raised above his head, preparing for another strike. The fist came crashing down and filled kody’s lungs with water. He was submerged for so long that Oceanus was sure that he perished. After leaving kody’s body behind, the water began to dry up and kody lifted his head of the grass, saying to himself, “I’ve got to stop getting myself into these kinds of situations.” |
Day 5: Defying Fate |
---|
Kody stood alone as the sun began to set, with no one in the world supporting him. It didn’t bother him though, because he knew something no one else did. He waited for the arrival of the Sisters without an ounce of fear in his heart. After a day of waiting, he saw the Sisters Atropos and Lahkesis appear over the horizon. The two sisters approached kody with their arms outstretched. “kody,” they said, “it is time for you to come with us.” “I don’t think so,” replied kody. Atropos became enraged at his insolent attitude. She lunged at his throat, attempting to kill him swiftly, but kody was able to parry the attack. “I saw that coming a mile away!” yelled kody. He beat back the Sisters until finally they gave up. “You cannot survive forever, kody!” screamed Lahkesis. “I have measured your thread, and your soul will be ours soon enough!” The Sisters flew away, and kody turned around, knowing there’d be some confused faces tonight. |
Night 6: Just Out of Arm's Reach |
---|
Zeus’ temple on Mount Olympus was silent and cold. Since all the gods had been out fighting no one was home to see what had happened. Hermes by chance flew through the window carrying the bodies of his fallen comrades. Since he wasn’t fighting, he thought he’d help out by at least giving fallen Olympians proper funerary rites. Just as he was blessing the fallen Aphrodite, Hermes noticed how cold it felt in the Great Hall. He rushed into Zeus’ personal chamber and found something that made him shout in surprise. “The Flame! The Flame of Olympus is gone!” Hermes ran to the balcony overlooking the battlefield and shouted for everyone to hear. “The Flame of Olympus has been stolen!” -- Hephaestus re-forged his great blade, sharpening it in preparation for a healthy night of battle. However, he searched all night and couldn’t find his target. In fact every single person with a thirst for blood that night could not find their targets. Not one person was in range for their attacks tonight! |
Day 6: Conflict |
---|
Peace*out and actressgirl fought hand-to-hand until the day’s end. They were fighting over the day’s plea for Dionysus. Clotho appeared out of the sky to settle the dispute. “Ladies, you cannot both recruit Dionysus,” she said. “If you cannot come to an agreement, then he will join neither of your teams!” Clotho flew away, disappointed that the two could not resolve their differences. Peace*out and actressgirl looked at each other, then pushed each other away. Neither one got what they wanted, and they hated each other for it. Just then, a second Sister of Fate descended from the sky. “I am giving you the chance to make up for your mistakes,” Lahkesis told them. “You will not die this day, but I want you to take the night to reflect on your actions” Peace*out and actressgirl were made weak and powerless. They could not even raise their arms to fight anymore. They fell apart and retreated, praying to survive the night. |
Night 7: Stone Cold |
---|
“This has been a long battle,” mumbled Atlas to himself. The Titans had started becoming more organized, pooling their forces in order to vanquish their enemies. Oceanus approached Atlas. “You’re clear on the plan then?” he said. “Yes,” replied Atlas. Atlas started running forward as Oceanus hung back. Atlas built up speed as he closed in on his target. Meanwhile, Oceanus spun on the spot, raising the water from underneath into a furious cyclone. The tornado of water grew tall into the sky, so tall that the top could no longer be seen below the clouds. Oceanus’ target sat alone, unaware of what was about to happen. The cyclone of water streaked across the sky and crashed down on Oceanus’ target, instantly submerging them. As they were struggling against the rapid flows, Atlas cam crashing into view. He grabbed his target’s head and held it under the water, suppressing all forms of struggle, and squeezing the last ounces of life from him. After a few short minutes, it was all over. Harvey was dead. |
Day 7: Sacrifice |
---|
The Titans cheered as the day came to an end. They dragged peace*out to the top of a hill in order to sacrifice her to the Sisters. “It is not you lucky day,” proclaimed one of the Titans. They chained peace to the largest stone they could find, then left her to face the Sisters by herself. As night started to fall, a shape began to form in the shadows. “Any last requests?” whispered Atropos. Peace lifted her head and responded, “Let me speak to your sister.” Atropos stepped to the side revealing Clotho behind her. “Before you leave us, I am offering you the help of Dionysus. He will take your place among the Olympians, and look out for them.” Peace nodded her head in thanks, then readied herself for Atropos. Clotho stepped back into the night as Atropos took her place in front of peace. Smiling, she pulled out her abhorred shears and cut the life from peace’s body. |
Night 8: Revenge |
---|
The night grew cold. Kody ran across the plains, afraid he was the only one of his kind left. It was so dark, he could hardly see his hand in front of his face, yet he kept running. He kept running until a massive hand came crashing down in front of him, stopping him dead in his tracks. Atlas found kody, and was moving in for the kill. He raised his arms above his head preparing to squash kody like a bug, until suddenly he was struck square in the chest by a massive lightning bolt. Atlas could sense the spirit Zeus nearby, then he heard it speak. “Atlas! You will not be hurting kody tonight!” Another lightning bolt careened through the air and struck Atlas, knocking him off his feet. This gave kody the perfect opportunity to slip away without getting hurt. -- Hades emerged from his cave, feeling a new vigour about him; he sharpened his weapons in preparation for a fight. Wielding deadly chains, Hades snuck up behind akaslickster, who didn’t suspect a thing. Hades grabbed slick by the throat and pushed him up against a large rock. “I’ve been hungry for a long time,” whispered Hades. “Your soul is mine!” With these words, Hades plunged his arm deep into slick’s chest, and apparently from out of the ether, he removed the ghost-like image of slick leaving his cold dead body behind. Hades absorbed slick’s soul, making him stronger and even more bloodthirsty. |
Day 8: The End Begins |
---|
“Aaaarrgghhh!” Kody screamed at the top of his lungs. “Why didn’t I see this coming!” Kody stood with twin_bro at the top of Mount Olympus as all three Sisters of Fate approached. Atropos lunged forward, quickly cutting both of them down. “Fools,” said Atropos to her sisters. “They thought they could stand against our power.” “This isn’t how things were supposed to happen!” replied Lahkesis. “This is not how I envisioned it.” “I don’t care what you envisioned,” shouted Atropos. “They’re dead now, the deed is done! The battle is at an end!” Clotho looked away from her sisters. “I’m afraid,” she said quietly to herself, “that this is just the beginning.” |
Epilogue |
---|
Kronos stood over the bodies of his fallen enemies as he trudged through the wasteland created by his battle with the Olympians. He had beaten the odds, and broken the cycle. Kronos has defied his own fate. “Fool!” Lahkesis descended from the sky, shouting at Kronos. “You were not meant to destroy the Gods! You were to die at the hands of your son, as punishment for killing your father!” “You cannot determine my destiny, puny Sister!” replied Kronos. “I am the greatest being to ever rule this world!” “WRONG!” shouted the Sister of Fate. Just then, an enormous fissure split the land in two. Kronos gazed down into the chasm leading to the underworld when a huge hand reached up and grabbed his ankle. “At last, I will have my revenge!” shouted Ouranos, as he began to drag Kronos down into the underworld. As this was happening however, Prometheus stood miles away, unbeknownst to the Sisters of Fate. He watched as Kronos was dragged underground, unable to help in any away, until Kronos was dragged out of site. He then saw Lahkesis fly away, so he secretly followed her as she met with the other Sisters of Fate. “The time of the Titans has come to an end,” Lahkesis told her Sisters. “This land will not be ruled by Titans or Gods, but instead by us!” Prometheus listened as the Sisters devised their plans for exterminating the remaining Titans. He couldn’t let this happen. He ran back to the Titans base camp to confer with Atlas, Oceanus, Gaia and Mnemosyne. “We can’t let this happen!” Shouted Oceanus after hearing about the plan from Prometheus. “If Kronos defied the Fates once, then perhaps we can do the same!” "We will rescue Kronos, and we will kill the Sisters!" Shouter Atlas. “It’s a long-shot,” mumbled Gaia, “but it’s the only shot we've got.” The Titans then fled to a secret location where they could bolster their forces in preparation to take on destiny itself. |
