It began on December 4th, 2008 and ended in a Goodie win in D4 (December 12th, 2008).
- The Day: It lasts 24 hours exactly, every time, like always. During the day, everyone votes for someone to inject with the nullifier virus. The injection consists of the original strain of the Shanti Virus which Dr. Suresh Bio-engineered to nullify the abilities of anyone for 24 hours. However, the strain randomly mutates, 50% of the time it will only disable the ability for 24 hours, the other 50% the person injected dies. When administering the virus, the blood of the injected will be analyzed and their ability will be revealed. If the same person is injected twice, then the strain mutates and kills the person no matter what.
- The Night: It will be 18 hours like usual, and I must have all PMs in by that time (though if you’re a little late, I won’t really care). I have school, so the night post will not be posted at the same time, usually later, but most likely within 24 hours. This is when most actions are performed, specifically the killing ones.
The Company – A secret organization that has BTSC. Every night they can kill someone. They win if they are the only ones alive. At any time (day or night), the company may perform an RID (role identification) kill on anyone, where they match a player and a role and will kill that player if they are correct. However, to do so, the company must sacrifice their next night kill, which means that they cannot use the RID more than once per day/night cycle. The RID kill bypasses any saving (if at night, the person targeted will not perform any night actions) and the effect will be instantaneous (a mini post will be made), but it comes with the added risk of not completing a kill. The only people immune to this attack are Ted, Sylar, and Claire; along with any player that is injected and survives (they get RID immunity).
- Linderman – Each night may save one player (preferably a company member) however he may NOT save himself.
- Candice – Any night but not two in a row, she may alter the reality of any person and if a night role, their target is randomly redirected to anyone that is not Candice, the original target, or the person that Candice targeted. That person will be notified that their target was redirected. Also, any day, but only once per game, she may alter the results of the blood analysis. She PMs me a role of her choosing, and I announce the injected person as that role, whether they live or die (Candice does not have to be the one injected).
- HRG – Is the member of the Company that has the final say in who is killed each night. He is outed when he dies, and he cannot be saved by Linderman. Also, any night but not two in a row, HRG can choose to recruit someone to the company (He can’t recruit Ted, Claire, Sylar, or a surviving player that was previously injected, same as with the RID kill). HRG must be able to identify that person’s role correctly for the recruitment to work. The recruited person joins the company and gains BTSC; however they lose all of their previous abilities and become a simple company member. Once HRG successfully recruits someone, he can never recruit again.
- The Haitian – Any night but not two in a row, selects one player that will lose their role ability for that night or following day.
- Sylar – He’s the ultimate baddie. If you’ve seen the show, you know what I mean. Every night, he has the capability to kill someone. After killing them he gains their ability for the rest of the game (without any restrictions on that ability), though he doesn’t find out what the ability is until he can use it. Along with killing someone and taking their ability, Sylar can also use one of the abilities that he has gained so far, but only one each night. Also, Sylar can kill Ted, but only if he uses both of his abilities at the same time on him (Sylar must use two kill abilities or he uses his main kill ability and he saves himself with his extra ability to successfully kill Ted), and Sylar will not gain Ted’s invincibility. Sylar can’t be killed until the night after he makes his first successful kill, unless he is injected. If Sylar survives the injection, then he can be killed the following night, or the next day by a second injection. He wins if he kills Claire. If Claire dies before Sylar can get to her, then he must be the last one standing to win the game.
The Heroes: win by killing the villains (The Company + Sylar.
- Peter Petrelli – Peter is the ultimate hero, however he is still not completely aware of his ability. Whenever he gets close to someone, he mimics their ability. Each night, Peter may visit one person, and then he uses that person's ability on them. If Peter is visited by 3 or more people on the same night he will blow up and take everyone else that visited him with him. If he visits Hiro, he won’t be able to kill him. Whoever Peter chooses will be referred to by their role in the night post.
- Nathan Petrelli – He can save someone each night by flying them to safety. He can’t save the same person two nights in a row.
- Molly Walker – Every day, Molly can seek a HERO role of her choosing, and learns the identity of the player with that role. She cannot be protected two nights in a row.
- Claire Bennet – May save one person any night but not two nights in a row, and she can’t save herself. She is invincible to everyone as long as HRG is alive.
- Hiro Nakamura – Every night he goes one night into the future (the following night) and kills one person of his choosing, though if he chooses, he can decide to do nothing instead of killing someone. That person is pronounced as Hiro's future target in the night post, though they are still alive until the following night and may defend themselves in the thread the following day to convince Hiro of their innocence. OR Hiro may (every night except the first night) choose to retract his kill choice from the previous night. Hiro's victims may not be protected by any saving role, and if Hiro dies after making his choice, the kill will still occur. Also, if Hiro chooses Peter, Peter is referred to as “Peter,” and he can survive if he also chooses Hiro on either the night Hiro makes his choice or the following night when the attack actually occurs.
- Matt Parkman – chooses one person each day to read their mind and find their role. The target will be notified that they were discovered and may send one message to Matt. He cannot be protected two nights in a row.
- Isaac Mendez – Each day he paints a picture showing the events of the night before and learns the roles of the people that died. He cannot be protected two nights in a row.
- DL – Has BTSC with Niki. Any night he can save one person, as long as Niki isn’t killing someone. If Niki dies, then DL gets restricted to use his ability any night but not two in a row.
- Niki – Has BTSC with DL. Any night she can kill one person, as long as DL isn’t saving someone. If DL dies, then Niki gets restricted to use her ability any night but not two in a row.
- Ted – With his radioactive powers, he can kill someone any night but not two in a row. However, due to his radioactivity, no one can come close to him, making it impossible for them to kill him. However, Ted was previously injected with a strain of the virus, and if he is injected again, he will die. Ted can also be killed by Haitian + Kill or Candice + Kill, or if Sylar doubles up a kill on him, or saves himself and uses a kill on Ted (Sylar can’t take Ted’s invincibility). Also, Ted can never be saved by anyone.
- Yoruichi-san – Niki
- Brandonb – Peter
- Unreality – Nathan
- Akaslickster – Claire
- Prof. Templeton – Hiro
- Crazypainter – Isaac
- CherryLane – Ted
- Itachi – Molly
- Star tiger – Matt
Day and Night Posts
"Where does it come from? This quest…this need to solve life's mysteries with the simplest of questions can never be answered. Why are we here? What is the soul? Why do we dream? Perhaps we might be better off not looking at all. Not delving, not yearning. But that's not human nature. Not the human heart. That is not why we are here."
"Using my father's research, I tracked down many different people with various and amazing abilities. Levitation, teleportation, tissue regeneration. These abilities are no longer outside the realm of possibility of human evolution."
"I gathered many of these special people together so that we could learn the cause of all these seemingly spontaneous and rapid evolutionary mutations. All of these people seem very kind, and just as interested to learn about their abilities as I am."
"Then, just as I was starting to make progress in my lab… some other people came. They seemed just as interested in my research as I was, and they were willing to steal my research using any means necessary. There were four of them, they came into my lab and caught me by surprise. They injected me with some type of shot; however it didn't seem to do anything to me. A man in horn rimmed glasses kept a gun pointed at me; while I watched the other three rip apart my lab. They were searching for the flash drive I had hidden in my aquarium that contained all of my father's research. 'Nobody stands in the way of the company' said the man wearing the glasses. 'You can help us do this the easy way, or we can just find them ourselves."
"Once I was able to see straight, I got up and began to analyze the remnants in the shot they had injected me with. I was able to reconstruct it, and came to learn that it could actually take away abilities! But then I had no idea why I couldn't remember anything, and since the serum couldn't have had any effect on me... but those people didn't know that. Once I learned how to duplicate the substance that the company had injected into me, I decided that this would now give me the chance to take my revenge. I finally had the ability to take vengeance against the man that killed my father. In addition to that, I now had something that I could use against those people that attacked me in my lab."
"Quickly, the news spread among the kind people that had volunteered for my study that I now possessed something that could take away the abilities of those people with powers. Before I knew it there were 15 people at my door; many more than I had originally been studying. Some saying that they had found the man that had killed my father, others saying that they knew who had attacked my lab. I knew that the bad guys were hiding among these people, but I couldn't tell who was who. I can't remember anything from the night that my lab was attacked. All I know is that I don't know what's going on anymore."
"In this group there is an unimaginable amount of power... teamed up against someone, this group would be impossible to stop. I cannot be judge, jury, and executioner. I told them that if they choose someone in the group, I will inject them with the serum, and analyze a blood sample to determine the ability that person possesses. This seemed to be the best way... no, the only way to find those people that had destroyed my lab, and Sylar... the man that killed my father."
|Night 1: The Return|
|As the steps creaked under him, Peter climbed the floors of the apartment building. He remembered that Mohinder lived in one of these apartments; he just had to remember which one…When he got to the third floor, Peter took the stairwell exit into the main hallway, heading down it looking at the numbers. “Ah!” he exclaimed, “that’s it!” Peter had stopped at apartment 316. He knocked on the door a few times, but heard nothing come from inside. He knocked again. After still no response, Peter tried the doorknob. Finding it unlocked, he went inside the apartment and looked around. “Suresh?” Peter called out. From the other room came a soft thump. Turning towards the sound, Peter crept into the other room. There he found Molly drawing; she had knocked a book off of her bed. “Why are you here all alone?” Peter asked her. “Mohinder’s been busy lately; besides, I’m fine on my own,” Molly replied. “Well, I need to relax for a bit, so I think I’ll just stay for a little while.”
Like Peter, CP was relaxing in her apartment, watching various shows that were on TV. After skimming over a few channels, she heard a knock at the door. She got up to get it, mumbling “that better be the pizza guy.” A man stood just outside, waiting patiently. “You’re not the pizza delivery guy,” CP blurted out. “No, I’m not,” the man responded. “My name is Chandra Suresh, I believe we spoke on the phone just recently,” he said. “Oh yeah, about my ability, right?” “Right,” he replied, “would you mind demonstrating it for me?” “Sure, just come into the other room…it’s right over there.” The man followed CP into the apartment, glancing behind him as the door closed shut.
HRG was packing up his stuff as the other Company members entered the room. “You ready to go?” one asked. “Yeah, just finished,” he responded. They got in their van and headed out. Arriving in the correct neighborhood, they pulled over to the side of the road. “This is it,” HRG exclaimed, “let’s take out some heroes.” The other members watched as HRG walked up to the house, fitting a silencer on his gun. He knocked quietly on the door. After a few moments, he knocked again, this time louder. A man came to the door, mumbling about how late it was. He opened the door to the barrel of a gun. That was the last thing that he saw. HRG strode away from the house calm and relieved, the blood stained body of Brandonb lying in the house right behind him.
“That’s amazing,” the man stated after CP had shown him what she could do. He got out of his chair, staring at CP. “All that power…” he whispered to himself. “What was that?” CP questioned. “Oh nothing,” the man replied, “I just need something of yours.” Suddenly, CP was slammed against the wall of her apartment, held there by an invisible force. “What the…who…who are you?” CP gasped out. “My name…is Sylar,” the man said. He approached CP, raising his index finger up to her forehead. Sylar slowly swept his finger to the right, cutting through CP's skull, as blood dripped down her face. Her screams resonated throughout the apartment and the building, even to the lonely alley cats just outside.
|Day 1: Five More Minutes…|
|Mohinder woke up to the loud and vicious accusations of the mob of people in his lab. Blinking his eyes, he spoke up “How did you all get in here?” A few people glanced over at him, but most just ignored him and went on arguing. Mohinder climbed out of bed, a little disgruntled at his lack of sleep last night. He glanced over at the group of people. They had seemed to have formed two main sides from which most of the discussion took place with a few other people off to the side, unsure of exactly what to do. After watching them argue for a bit more, Mohinder finally shouted out “Alright, I need a decision, I’m only going to wait for five more minutes.” The two sides stopped yelling, wondering what would happen. Then suddenly, someone standing off to the side blurted out “Star Tiger seems less suspicious…I think Impervious is probably the better choice.” Now that there was a majority of people for taking out Impervious, Suresh prepared him for the injection.
“First I’ll take a blood sample so we know what you can do,” Mohinder explained. He took a needle, and after drawing some blood from Impervious’ arm, he put a drop on a slide. Everyone watched anxiously as Mohinder studied the slide under his microscope. “Let’s see,” Mohinder mumbled as he looked through the microscope, “it looks like Impervious has the ability of telepathy…that should make him Matt Parkman.” He looked up, and said “Well, I don’t want to do this, but they chose you, not me.” Mohinder picked up the other syringe on the lab desk, the one that contained the virus, and proceeded to inject Impervious with the entire thing. The group crowded around to see what happened, but Impervious didn’t seem to have any problems. “That should neutralize your abilities for one whole day,” Mohinder continued, “after that you should be able to use them again.” The crowd dispersed, along with Impervious, worrying about the night to come and hoping that tomorrow would provide a better result. Mohinder stayed behind to further study the results from the first injection.
|Night 2: A Night Full of Surprises|
|Yoruichi-san was tired after a long grueling day of arguing and fighting. She needed some time to just go home and relax. After leaving Suresh’s lab, she turned down the street and headed home. She walked along the dark and lonely street, as most of the other heroes had already gone off to wherever they went for the night. Arriving at her house, she went up the steps and got out her keys. Fumbling with the keys in her hand, YS finally got the correct one and put it in the lock. Unfortunately it was old and worn, so she had to fiddle with the keys to get them to unlock the door. Yoruichi-san placed her hand on the doorknob and slowly turned it to the right. She swung the door open. Then something lunged out of the darkness directly at her.
The clock struck three in the morning when an annoyed Prince Marth got out of bed. He looked over at his clock and groaned. “If that stupid faucet keeps dripping all night, I’ll never be able to get to sleep!” he thought to himself. He walked across the hall into the upstairs bathroom to try and fix it. When he walked in, he could hear the piercing “drip…drop…drip…drop” of the faucet. He leaned over to get a better view, and he proceeded to twist the handles to try and stop it. The faucet let out another drop, then another. Then it stopped.
Impervious was scared for his life after the meeting they had had that day with all of the heroes. “They’re all out to get me!” He said to no one in particular, “What am I going to do?” “I’ve got an idea for you,” came a voice from behind him. Impervious only had time to turn around before Ted vaporized his body. “That’s what you get,” Ted muttered to the pile of ash that lay on the sidewalk. As he walked away into the night, the wind picked up, and some of the ash started to scatter.
It was her cat. Yoruichi-san scrambled to get the crazed kitten off of her face. The cat had scratched up her face violently. “What’s wrong with you?” YS asked, “You aren’t normally this high-strung.” YS was too tired to care anymore, she simply headed into the living room and collapsed on the couch. “Ahhhhhhhh…” she said, letting out a deep sigh of relief. Looking down at her cat, she noticed that the cat was staring through her, wide-eyed. “Now what?” YS mumbled, turning to look over behind the sofa. Before she had time to react, a hand descended over her forehead, and then she started to forget…
A droplet of water hung in midair, hovering between the faucet and drain. A dark figure casually walked into the bathroom and glanced around. “Dang, this guy has nice towels,” the man thought to himself. He looked over at PM, frozen in time. The figure drew his sword and stabbed Prince Marth directly in the heart repeatedly, until he was sure that PM was dead. “I wonder what he’ll have to say yesterday,” the man said, talking to himself. As he left the room, he picked up one of the towels and took it with him. “I doubt he’ll need this.” Then he vanished into the past as quietly as he had come. After Hiro’s departure, the fatally wounded Prince Marth collapsed onto the floor of the bathroom; the faucet continued to drip…drop…drip…drop.
A single, solitary man walked along the dimly lit street. He came upon a small pile of ash that was slowly drifting away with the wind. “Ah, there you are,” Linderman quietly called out. He drifted his hand over the small pile and closed his eyes. The ash started trembling, and as Linderman concentrated, little pieces of ash slowly rolled towards the pile. The pile grew in size, and started rising into the air to form a shape. He continued to wave his hand over the pile, and the particles of ash slowly healed and melded back together. After only a few moments, Impervious was standing there. Linderman opened his eyes. “Uhh…thank…you?” Impervious mumbled, staring at the creepy old man. He walked away, picking up from where he left off when Ted had interrupted him.
Waking up, Yoruichi-san blinked her eyes in the bright light above. “Well, look who decided to join us,” a man in the back of the room said. As she became more aware, YS eyes focused and she realized that she was in some sort of lab, lying in a hospital bed. She tried to lean up to see who had spoken, but she couldn’t move. The man came closer, and she noticed that he was wearing a pair of horn-rimmed glasses. “How unusual,” she thought to herself. “Where am I,” YS gasped out. “Don’t worry, the man said, “You’ll be better in no time.” He pulled a gun from his holster and pointed it at YS. “No time at all…” Suddenly the man was tackled from behind by someone. He fell to the floor, the gun skidding away. By the time he had gotten up, both YS and his attacker were gone. “Dang it!” HRG yelled out, “How the hell did that guy get in here?”
Sylar sat in the very comfortable chair in the apartment. “I must get more power…” he mumbled fiendishly, “delicious power.” He continued waiting in the dark as the seconds ticked by. He was very patient when it came to getting what he wanted. Then the latch on the door turned slowly, and GC stepped into the apartment. Sylar kept waiting. GC put down his keys on the counter and took off his jacket. “What a long day,” he said into the dark and supposedly empty apartment. “Yes it was,” came a reply from the far corner of the room. GC hurriedly flicked on the light, but it was too late. With a flick of the wrist, Sylar flung GC against the wall. Approaching the struggling man, Sylar thought out loud “I wonder what you can do…we’ll just have to see, won’t we?” Amidst screams of pain, Sylar raised his finger and cut open GC’s skull. “Ah, now I understand,” he muttered to himself.
|Day 2: Expect the Expected|
|Impervious huddled against the building as the frigid wind blew at his back. He was going to Mohinder’s lab, fearful of what was about to happen. However, after arriving at the lab, he stood courageous upon entering the building. As he stepped into the warm, refreshing room, only to have 11 pairs of eyes staring right at him. “Oh, you’re all already here,” Impervious said, muffled through his scarf. “We wanted a head start on the voting,” someone said, “we’re already done.” “But what about me?” Impervious replied. “It doesn’t matter,” Suresh stated, “the vote was unanimous…well, almost.” He looked over at the group. They all stared coldly back at him. “Well, I guess if it has to be this way…” Then he quickly turned and ran for the door, with everyone scrambling after to try and stop him. After chasing him for a bit, unreality was the one to finally tackle Impervious to the floor. Upon returning to the lab, Mohinder strapped Impervious into the chair so he wouldn’t run off again. “Let’s try this again,” he muttered, “hopefully we’ll have more success…Should I bother to even check the blood?” “Go ahead and confirm it Mohinder,” someone replied. “Alright,” he responded, looking into the microscope. “Wait…it seems like Impervious really was Matt…well that sucks.” Mohinder glanced up at all the surrounding people. “Ah, I’m just kidding. He’s Candice.” Mohinder then injects Impervious, who, after a brief hour or so of pain and suffering, collapses dead on the lab chair. The others just stood around and watched, leaving after it was over.|
|Night 3: Park Place|
|The faucet continued to drip. And drip. And drip. And it kept dripping, until the stopped up sink overflowed. Now the water was dripping off the counter, onto the still body of Prince Marth. Hiro had left him there to die, planning a different target for tonight.
Earlier that night, a van had pulled up in front of a house that was just down the road from PM’s. It sat there for hours, unmoving and without a sound. That at exactly 1:53AM, the doors slid open and two figures stepped out. Moments later, they came back, carrying a passed out body in their arms. They heaved the person into the van, jumped in themselves, and drove off. Unreality soon awoke in the back of the van, chained to a railing. Not too long ago had he been peacefully resting in bed. Then they had barged in and attacked him. One had hit him on the back of his head with a baseball bat, knocking him out. Now unreality didn’t know where he was, and the rocking van was making him dizzy. One of his attackers looked back and noticed that unreality was conscious. “Ah, good,” he said, coming into the back with unreality. “Where is he?” “What…what are you talking about? Where is who? Where am I? And who are you?” unreality mumbled, still a little dazed. The man punched him. “Where is he?” he yelled again. “I don’t know what you’re talking about…what do you want from me?” unreality stammered, more fearful than before. “We are the Company…and if you refuse to help us, then you are of no use.” The man kicked open the back door and after unchaining unreality, he shoved unreality out the back and off the cliff that they were driving by. Unreality’s body rolled and bounced down the jagged rocks of the cliff face, his body eventually coming to a still rest in the large grove of trees below.
Hiro, while glad that he didn’t have to bother with stopping his kill on PM, was still very bored. He had nothing to do. “Maybe another trip into the future…” he thought out loud. “Of course!” Hiro exclaimed. He shut his eyes tight, clenched his teeth, and was gone.
Amidst the many trees of the park, YS was hurrying home to her cat. She knew the dangers of being out at night alone, but she had to risk it. Unfortunately for her, she shouldn’t have. As she rushed along the path, she could sense someone was nearby. But she could see no one around. She kept on walking, and soon started jogging. Suddenly, a large tree smashed down right in front of her. “Where did that come from?” YS blurted out. “Heh heh heh…” came a voice from behind, “Sorry about that.” Sylar stepped from the shadows and flung YS onto the nearest tree. “I need more power…” he repeated to himself. Just as he was about to raise his finger, YS disappeared into the tree. Stunned for a moment, Sylar glanced around the tree to see two people running off away from him. Angered, he stormed after them.
Hiro reappeared on a bus the next night. He glanced behind him, seeing Kat sitting just a few seats back. He sat and waited, humming a small tune to himself. He looked back again, and Kat was gone. He got up and hurriedly looked around the bus. He asked the driver to pull over, and Hiro got off the bus. As the bus pulled away, a hand grabbed Hiro from behind. Kat stood there, glaring down at the shrinking face of Hiro. “What do you want?” she asked. “I have come on a mission…to kill you.” Hiro then disappeared, reappearing directly behind a surprised Kat. He then disappeared again, and appeared to her left. He did it again, and again. Soon Hiro was whizzing around, and Kat was very confused. Taking advantage of this moment, Hiro rushed in for the final strike. He brought his blade down over Kat’s head; she was dead before she hit the ground. Hiro, impressed with his improving skill, disappeared into thin air.
On a warpath, Sylar uprooted trees left and right, carelessly tossing them aside as he hurled himself through the park. He was not going to let some pathetic phasing man snatch away his prey. He could still make them out ahead, and Sylar occasionally hurled a rock in their direction. He then noticed that they were starting to slow down. Sylar kept sprinting towards them. Yes, they were definitely slowing down. “They’re getting tired. Excellent,” Sylar thought. He soon reached them; in the night they appeared to be just a crumpled mass on the ground. Peering closer, Sylar realized that that crumpled mass was unreality. “Dang,” Sylar called out into the night, “I’ll get you for this DL!”
|Day 3: Saved!|
|“Wow…” Mohinder thought to himself, “These days are getting less and less exciting. It’s almost always a complete bandwagon.” He got up from his lab chair. “Hopefully tomorrow will be more interesting.” The group of people was where they had been about this time for the past two days. Mohinder glanced over at them. “Slick?” he queried. “Slick,” came the unanimous response. “Surprise surprise,” Mohinder thought to himself. And were they about to be surprised. As Slick approached the chair, the windows of the lab smashed in. Gas canisters were thrown into the lab, and everyone started coughing. “Not again,” Suresh thought, sighing. People started passing out all around him, and Suresh could still see Slick standing perfectly fine, not coughing at all. As he fell, he thought he caught a glimpse of someone wearing a gas mask coming through one of the smashed windows.
When he woke up, a few others were sitting around rubbing their heads. Slick was long gone, and the lab was destroyed…again. “What happened?” Mohinder said. “I think Slick was Claire, considering that it must have been HRG to come in and save her,” one of the conscious people replied. “Of course…” Suresh muttered, getting up. He looked around at the wreckage. “Someone’s going to pay for this…”
|Night 4: On the Road|
|The fatally wounded body of Kat dropped to the ground. HRG was dead. Once again happy in his actions for the night, Hiro had left her to die. Instead, he was focusing on a new target. Tonight he had his blade ready for someone else. Venturing into the future once again, Hiro appeared on a long lane of trees, he wasn’t sure what kind. Hiro couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but something was odd about this place. The trees were bare, and while this was winter, the trees looked as if the leaves had been burned off of them. Not a sound could be heard anywhere around him save for the wind, which whispered to him as it traveled among the bare trees. He started down the lane of trees, glancing around nervously. He peered farther down the road, only making out the smallest light up ahead amidst a wall of black. He ran towards the light, curious as to what it was. As he approached, he could tell that it was a person, but…why were they glowing? Hiro got even closer. Then he felt it. The person was giving off immense amounts of heat and light, and Hiro could barely stand within a few yards of them. “I guess I won’t be able to kill CL tonight,” Hiro mused, “It doesn’t seem like it’s possible.” He teleported away, just as CL let off another powerful blast of radiation.
Along an eerily similar road walked Sinistral, out for an evening stroll the night before Hiro’s attack on CL. He looked up at the trees, which still had a few leaves on them. “Hmmm…look like cherry trees,” he thought to himself. Suddenly he was knocked over by a blast from behind. Scrambling up, he called out “Who’s there?” Ted stepped out from behind a tree. “It’s just me,” he replied. Sinistral dodged another blast of powerful energy from Ted. “What are you…hey! Stop it!” Ted grew tired of firing off shots of energy at Sinistral. He stopped and relaxed for a bit. Sinistral saw his chance and took it. He was soon far down the road. But Ted was ready. He summed up all of his power and released it in one humongous blast. The explosion incinerated what was left of the leaves and it quickly caught up to Sinistral, who faded away into the mushroom cloud of destruction. Exhausted, Ted fell to the ground, surrounded by the trees along the cherry lane.
The Company, out on a road of its own (though one without cherry trees) was headed for downtown. They arrived at their destination, a small diner on the side of the road. It may have been late, but it was still open. They walked in and sat at a table in the corner near the door. A waitress came over and gave them their menus. After the waitress moved away, HRG pulled out a gun and hid it behind the menu. He glanced around the diner, and spied his target over at the booth to his left. Looking back down at his menu, HRG fired directly through it at the man in the booth. He then got up and left the diner with the rest of the Company. The waitress rushed over to the man and tried to help him. But it was too late, the Professor was dead.
|Midday Day 4|
Yoruichi-san was worn out from the stressful week that she had been having. All the fighting and especially the injections were really messing with her schedule. She glanced at the clock. “Crap…I have to go to the meeting.” YS rushed out of her house, slamming the door behind her. She quickly got into her car and started the ignition. Immediately her car shot into the air in a giant ball of flame. The explosion shook the area, the mushroom cloud hung in the sky above. This must have been the Company’s work. They knew who she was and where she lived.
Day post coming...
|Day 4: Enough|
|“Where’s YS?” asked Mohinder after glancing at the dwindling group before him. “I think she’s a little late,” someone replied. Suddenly there was a low rumble from outside “I wonder what that was…anyway, did you come to a decision?” Everyone looked over at Itachi. “Bring it on,” he said, sitting down in the lab chair. Mohinder first took a blood sample, and then looked at it through the microscope. “…Molly? What are you doing here? Oh well…sorry, but here goes.” Mohinder picked up the virus and injected Itachi with it. “Thankfully this only nullifies your abilities, so it shouldn’t be a serious problem for you…” Mohinder paused, looking at Itachi. He didn’t look too well. Itachi started shaking violently, thrashing about in the lab chair. “Oh no…” Mohinder thought, “What’s happening?” However, Itachi calmed down, and stopped shaking. Then he stopped moving. Mohinder moved closer. “Itachi?” he said, poking Itachi. Itachi was dead. “What have I done…?” Mohinder looked around at the others in the room. He noticed that there were only…4 left? Really? Mohinder sighed. “This has gone on quite long enough…” Suresh told them. “Too many deaths…Look, this game is basically over. There’s no chance of us losing, so would you rather end it now? I have other things to do, and it seems pointless to drag this out for another day or so.” He looked up at the small group left. “What do you think?”
“Well?” Mohinder asked. “What do you guys think we should do?” The 4 remaining players shifted around unsteadily, unsure of what to do. Suddenly someone smashed through the windows of the lab and tackled SomeGuy. “Damn, not again…” Mohinder thought to himself.
Only minutes earlier, Yoruichi-san had been rushing out of her house to go to the meeting for the injection. She had gotten in her car and was turning on the ignition…when Hiro appeared next to her. He quickly put his hand on her shoulder, and they disappeared as the giant mushroom cloud formed from the exploding car.
They reappeared outside Mohinder’s lab. YS looked around, and noticed that the cars weren’t moving. “Time’s still stopped,” she commented. “Yep,” he quickly replied. “Wait…how did you know that I would die?” YS asked him, “And aren’t you already dead?” “What? I die? Dang…oh well, it makes my presence here less of an issue. Now as to how I knew to save you…”
Crazypainter was hurriedly painting another one. Earlier that night she had painted a picture of her, Isaac, dying by the hands of Sylar. She had to get a message out to someone, anyone. When her eyes returned to their normal color, she looked at her work. On the freshly painted canvas was an image of a massive explosion by YS’s house. “I have to warn her…but how?” she thought to herself. The door to her loft banged open. Sylar had arrived. “It’s time to die, Isaac,” he laughed.
“Alright stop. Where do you come in?” YS asked Hiro. “I was just getting to that…” he replied, “Be patient. You see, I wasn’t doing anything that night, so I figured that I might just drop in on Mr. Isaac,” Hiro told YS.
“You see, I’ve known that you would die from the start,” Hiro continued, “However once I knew the Company was after me, I realized that I would have to time travel to now so I could save you.” “Well thank you,” YS replied, “but there’s something that I need to take care of first. Could you start time again?” “Yeah, sure, but why?” Hiro wondered. “You’ll see.”
Inside, the various heroes looked around at each other. Then she did it. YS broke through the window and tackled SomeGuy. She knew he had been recruited, and she was furious at him for backstabbing her. SomeGuy fell to the floor and struggled to get out of Yoruichi-san’s grasp. With the incredible strength that she possessed as Niki, YS picked SomeGuy up and held him in the air, only to hurl him against the solid wall of the lab. SomeGuy’s head was crushed against the wall, and his lifeless body crumpled to the floor. The other people just stare at YS. “What the hell did you do that for?” Mohinder blurted out. “He was the last Company member,” YS answered, “He was recruited a few days ago. “So that means…they’re all dead. We won. We won!” Suresh exclaimed. Then he looked over at the door. “What are you doing here Professor? Didn’t you die last night?” PT glanced over at Mohinder. “Perhaps I should explain…you see, the Company attacked me that night in a diner. However, I was able to stop time before the shot fired reached me. And now I’m here.” “Ah yes, Hiro, what an amazing ability,” Suresh thought out loud. “So I presume that you were Niki,” he said, turning to YS. “Yeah, and SomeGuy was DL, until he turned his back on us heroes.” “Then who are all of you?” Mohinder asked the other few. “We know Slick’s Claire, and CL’s Ted, but…are you Matt, Star Tiger?” “Yeah,” she replied. “And then there were those we studied, Impervious, and Itachi, who were Candice and Molly, respectively. So that covers us…but who was everyone else?” “I think I can help you with that…” Hiro replied, and with that he disappeared.
~Night 1 – The Return~
PT appeared in Mohinder’s apartment. He heard someone in the other room, so he quickly hid in the back room of the apartment. It was just Molly, but someone was with her…was that Peter? Hiro ducked behind the doorway as Peter left the room and said goodnight to Molly. He looked exhausted. Peter walked towards the door and exited the apartment. Hiro followed him. Hiro stalked Peter all the way back to his house, curious as to his identity. He couldn’t get a good view at the apartment because of the dim light and the fact that he was hiding. Hiro waited outside as Peter went into his house. He looked very tired. Hiro was about to teleport into the house, but he soon realized that a van had pulled up on the road. Men were coming up to the door, and they didn’t look friendly. Hiro watched as the Peter opened the door to see who it was. Hiro jumped when the man pulled out a gun and shot Peter. After the group had left, Hiro got up from his hiding place and went over to the fallen comrade. “Brandonb…so you were Peter,” Hiro spoke out loud. “Now, who’s next?”
~Night 2 – A Night Full of Surprises~
Hiro only needed to check on GC this time, who Sylar killed that night. Waiting in his apartment, he went over to look at GC after Sylar had completed his gruesome task. It was Linderman. “Guess you couldn’t save yourself,” Hiro chuckled.
~Night 3 – Park Place~
Once again, Hiro appeared, this time in the shower in Prince Marth’s upstairs bathroom. He could hear the faucet still dripping. Patiently Hiro waited, until he heard the fateful stab that he had inflicted two nights ago. Once Hiro knew that Hiro was gone, he stepped from the shower and looked down at the dead body of PM. “Hmmmm…The Haitian, huh?”
The park was quite peaceful at this time of night. Viewing the hill from above, one would have seen a man appear, as if from nowhere, along the slope. Around the same, time, a van rushed along the highway above the valley below. Moments later, a body was thrown from the van over the side of the cliff. Hiro glanced around nervously, as it was very hard to see even a few feet away. He heard a low rumble coming towards him, and Hiro quickly stopped time so he could see what it was. It was the body of unreality, tumbling down the cliff. Hiro got closer for a better view. “Flying man!” he yelled out, “…flying man?” Hiro knew that Nathan was dead now, too.
~Night 4 – On the Road~
Hiro knew who he had managed to kill that night. Kat had been HRG, Hiro didn’t need to bother confirming that. “Dang, I was good. Two Company members in a row.”
This was the last one. Hiro looked at the many cherry trees that lined the road. He remembered being here not too long ago…he watched from a far as CL attacked Sinistral. Approaching the body after it was over; he found Sinistral burnt to a crisp. He wasn’t able to identify Sinistral, though Hiro was a smart man. Through a little deductive reasoning, he figured out that Sinistral had to be Sylar.
“So that’s it?” Mohinder said after hearing what Hiro had seen. “Interesting…well, it was still a great game. And nice work, Slick, ST, and CL, for making it to the end unscathed and still aligned with the heroes.” “Well, so long,” Hiro said. “Wait, you’re going?” “I have to, otherwise things could be completely different, and my time here wasted.” And with that, Hiro vanished into thin air.
~A few Nights Ago~
In a small diner of the main highway, Hiro faced his ultimate fate. The bullet hit him, and he dropped to the ground, dead.
