It began on November 08, 2008 and ended in a Heroes win in Cycle 5 (November 14th).
- This game only takes place in 24hr cycles. All actions must be decided within 20hrs, and the post will go up in the following 4hrs. From here on in the instructions and descriptions, Cycles=Days=Nights. It’s all the same.
- All roles must PM their action/inaction to me each night if they are able to take action. Failure to send a PM confirming the decision of action or inaction will result in default use of the ability with no effect. (Ex. If no PM is received by HRG during a given cycle, he will use his kill ability, but it will not harm anyone, and he will not be able to use it again the next day). All of a team’s role actions may be collectively PMed to me by a single member of the team.
- There is no lynch vote. As a result, there is little incentive for a great deal of posting in the thread, except for any conversation made in an effort to learn the roles of the unsided players. So the more conversation, the more likely a team will make a successful draft.
- Every day, each team may make one collective kill attempt, in addition to whatever actions are taken by the kill roles.
- At team may satisfy a double-source kill during a particular night by sacrificing the following night’s group kill… Rephrased: a team may use the current night’s kill, AND choose to sacrifice their following night’s kill, in order to fulfill a double-source kill. Because the members of the team risk too much to successfully make the kill against their target, they would spend the next night recovering.
- ONCE Every day, each team may choose one player to draft from the group of 5 unsided players. In order to successfully make a draft, the team must PM me the correct name AND role of the unsided player. If a player is drafted, they will be aligned with the drafting team, and will gain BTSC with them. However, the opposing team will not be informed whether or not the draft was successful.
- If a team makes a guess, and they are incorrect, then they are informed only that the draft failed. If one team has already drafted someone... then the other team tries to draft that same person, they are informed only that the draft failed. If both teams attempt to draft the same person on the same night, then both teams are informed that the draft failed.
- Teams may also purchase additional draft attempts by sacrificing the use of a chosen role’s ability.
- No team may draft the MIA member of the other team.
The Company : All-but the MIA members have BTSC : Objective: Kill all of the Hero members including the MIA player.
- Mr. Petrelli – Any night but not two in a row, he may steal the ability of any living role for the night. But when he does, he will be outed to the role that he stole from after the following post. If the role is already dead, then the steal fails. If the ability was going to be in use by the chosen role, then they would not be able to use it until the following night. (*Stealing the ability of a player that has BTSC with the company, counts as a use for that player. Stealing the Ability of anyone else, does not count as a use by the target).
- Linderman – 1) Every night will be able to choose any person to protect for the night, but not the same person two nights in a row (this ability may be used on himself). OR 2) Any night but not two in a row, instead of protecting someone, Linderman may come to the rescue of any person that died the night before. He will be able to choose any person after they have died from a single attack and revive them. However, he will not be able to revive a person that was attacked by more than two sources (double-source kill) at the same time. Linderman may not use this ability on himself.
- Candice - Any night but not two in a row, she may choose any person and change their reality. Candice’s target is randomly redirected to anyone. However, Candice may specify three players that will not be redirected towards.
- HRG – The man with the Horned Rimmed Glasses. Any night but not two in a row, HRG gets to kill one person. He is outed when he dies.
- The Haitian – Any night but not two in a row, selects one player that will lose their role ability for that night.
- Elle – Any night but not two in a row, Elle may electrocute someone to death.
The Heroes : All-but the MIA members have BTSC : Objective: Kill all of the Company members including the MIA player.
- Peter –Any night but not two in a row, Peter gets to visit one person, and uses that person's ability on them. If Peter is visited by 3 or more people on the same night he will blow up and take everyone else that visited him with him. (IF peter chooses Ted, then peter gains Ted’s invincibility, however, he also mimics Ted’s kill ability and thus subtracts 1 from Ted’s double-source kill).
- Nathan – He can save someone each night by flying them to safety, but not the same person two nights in a row.
- Mohinder Suresh – Any night but not two in a row, Mohinder may inject any other player with a serum that will allow the person to perform their ability for the second night in a row (of course this excludes saving roles that work every night. And yes, the second use counts as a use and therefore the ability would not be used on the third night). Because this is not a power, this ability may not be stolen by Mr. Petrelli, nor reflected by Peter.
- DL – Any night he can save one person, but not the same person two nights in a row, and only as long as Niki isn’t killing someone. If Niki dies, then DL gets restricted to use his ability any night but not two in a row.
- Niki – Any night she can kill one person, as long as DL isn’t saving someone. If DL dies, then Niki gets restricted to use her ability any night but not two in a row.
- Ted – With his radioactive powers, he can kill someone any night but not two in a row. Also, due to his radioactivity, it is difficult for any one person to get close enough to make an effective kill on him. However, if Ted is attacked by more than one source (double-source kill), enough damage will be done to cause Ted’s death. Also, Ted can never be saved by anyone.
The Unsided : No BTSC until drafted : Objective: Survive till the end, or win with the drafted team.
- Matt Parkman – Any night but not two in a row, he may choose one person to read their mind and find their role. The target will be notified that they were discovered. He cannot be protected two nights in a row.
- Claire Bennet – May save one person any night but not two nights in a row, and she can’t save herself. She is invincible to everyone (except Peter's explosion) as long as HRG is alive.
- Isaac Mendez – Each day he paints a picture showing the events of the night before and learns the roles of the people that died. Also, any night but not two in a row, Isaac may paint the picture of the role of his choosing, and show the action that was taken by that role the night before.
- The unsided group will also have two MIA members (They do not start with BTSC with their teams)
- +1 Random Killer Role Company Member without BTSC
- +1 Random Killer Role Hero Member without BTSC
These two roles will only be able to be drafted by their credited teams, at which point, they will regain BTSC.

Day and Night PostsEdit
|The Nightmare Begins|
|Riding in the back, as riving through a tunnel late at night, she watched the lights overhead zoom up her windshield and straight back across her open sunroof. Combined with the droning sound of her engine hollowly echoing off the tunnel walls and through the sunroof, it was hypnotizing. She continued to drive, and let her thoughts wander on from the fading day's activities, to what would happen tomorrow, and on to her family that seemed to be ever-growing apart...
The company, in their never ending quest for power, decided that it may be easier to make company agents, then to recruit them. Since the previous formula they created merely bestowed random abilities on their agents (and they had no use for agents with the ability to turn objects different colors, or to burn CDs with their minds), they decided to work on something new. After months of work, they came up with a new technology that was only referred to as "Hybrid." It could take the abilities of a person, so long as they were dead, and bestow those powers onto other living people. It could be duplicated to as many people as desired. Now that they have the Hybrid perfected, it’s time to start collecting…
Somewhere outside of New York City... the sun was setting over a desolate train yard. Giant blue, black, gray, green, and red boxcars littered the area, but not a railroad worker could be found. But there were people there, two sides engaged in an epic battle. One side that was hunting, to fuel a source of unbridled power, and the other side, grouped together to save their own lives and stop the onslaught of the company.
In the middle of the train yard, no powers, just two men and a gun. Mohinder and HRG fought for their lives, against eachother. With gritted teeth, both men wrestled on their feet against the side of an immobile boxcar, for control over HRG’s snub nosed revolver. Each man had one hand on the gun, and the other on the wrist of his opponent. However, HRG was stronger. With all of his effort he was able to get his finger on the trigger, and began to twist Mohinder’s arm down and turn the gun toward Mohinder’s head. The gun’s aim was just barely out of line with his face, when Mohinder used all the strength he had left to head butted HRG in the eye with a sickening crunch of bones crushing glass. HRG fell to the ground, and dropped the gun at Mohinder’s feet. “Well, it looks like I have won” said Mohinder as he picked up the gun and extended his arm to aim the barrel at HRG’s shattered face…
ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzztt. Suddenly a burst of electricity shot towards Mohinder, it hit him in the side and blasted him against the boxcar. “Not yet” said Elle as she prepared her fatal blow. Her hands grew bright as she buzzed with electricity. In one huge blast she sent a wave of energy into the boxcar. “Are you OK?” Asked Nathan as he flew higher into the air while bear-hugging Mohinder. “I think that little vixen melted the soles of my shoes.” Someone needs to put her down. “Thank you for saving me” said Mohinder. “If you hadn’t swooped in and pulled me out of there, I would’ve been looking like your shoes.”
This was really starting to make the green-glowing radioactive guy angry… and no one likes it when he gets angry. Ted spotted his target… Candice. She was laying flat in between the rails, hiding under a train. “How perfect” Ted thought to himself. His hands began to boil hot as he blasted the train with a nuclear blast. Candice didn’t even have time to react, all she could do was scream as Ted melted the train over her head, dripping molten metal down onto Candice, incinerating her. But then his hands began to cool while Candice was still screaming… he didn’t understand what was going on. Until he looked to his left and saw the Haitian standing there. Then the screaming stopped, and Candice vanished, along with the entire train… it was all an illusion. A trap to get the Haitian close enough to Ted to stop him. Just then, Ted heard a voice behind him. “Not so tough now are you?” Candice said as she drove an eight inch knife straight into Ted’s back and through his heart.
Elle smiled when she saw that Mohinder had vanished. Until it felt like a train had plowed into her back. Elle went flying through the air head first into the side of the boxcar where Mohinder had just been leaning. Her body went limp, and she exhaled her last breath. Nikki smiled when she saw Elle’s fragile body crumple into a ball on the ground.
Ted dropped to the ground, defeated. Candice glared down at him with a glorious smile on her face, as Ted choked out his last words “Not so tough now are you?” Then he vanished. Confused, Candice looked around to see a luminescent Peter standing over the Haitian who he had just knocked over the head with a baseball bat. “Not so funny when someone does it to you is it?” said the glowing Peter, as Ted appeared next to him…
In the middle of all the madness, Linderman was walking around somehow unnoticed by the others around him. He strolled through the train yard, observing the chaos and laughing to himself. As he walked, he ran his fingers along the side of the boxcar next to him. In the middle of his absurdly calm stroll through the battle, he came up to a crumpled pile of what was once Elle. “Well we can’t have that now can we?” he said to the pile of twisted flesh. Linderman merely bent over and touched the blood soaked blonde hair, and suddenly her body began to untwist and reform into the beauty that she once was. Elle inhaled and coughed, as she looked up at Linderman with thanks and wonderment. “You are welcome young lady” he said with a smile. “Now things are about to get very… heated. I suggest that you go ahead and return to our rendezvous point.
DL was searching for Niki, he hadn’t seen her since they split up and she went to save Mohinder. The train yard was nothing for him, we just phased through the cars one by one searching for his wife. Until he entered into the same area where Ted and Peter were standing. “I could go for something like that.” said a voice. DL whipped around to see Mr. Petrelli standings a foot away from him. Petrelli reached out to touch DL and steal his powers, but his hand phased right through DL.
Peter stood in the center of the chaos, attacks whirling around him. He began to feel slightly dizzy, there was so much going on. Everyone was fighting and he couldn’t focus on anything in particular. Suddenly, his hands started to glow fiercely. Peter had absorbed too many abilities, and now he would experience the consequences. He glanced down at his hands, realizing what was about to happen. In the midst of all the confusion, Peter yelled out for everyone to run for their lives. He was going to explode. All of the warring people glanced up at the shimmering person standing solitarily in the middle of the train yard. They quickly comprehended the situation and the danger they were in. They ran for it, many hitching a ride on a passing train that had just whizzed by. Peter could feel himself pulsing with energy, on the verge of erupting in a mushroom cloud of power. He collapsed onto his knees, staring into the sky.
As Peter was looking up, high in the sky Mohinder was looking down at him. “We have to help him!” yelled the anxious Mohinder, holding onto Nathan to stay alive. “It’s too late to go back, we may as well just save ourselves!” Nathan replied. He shot off into the night sky, while far below, a massive explosion shook the earth. Two of the people that had been fighting hadn’t quite made it out of the train yard by the time of the eruption. While they were running in opposite directions, the blast caught them from behind, knocking them down, unconscious. The body of Peter lay smoldering right where he had been standing moments ago. The body trembled for a bit, and then struggled to get up. Peter’s face slowly healed itself, the burned skin revitalized. He stood up and glanced around for a moment, only to rocket into the sky, flying back home.
The next day, the company members met at the headquarters in New York. Arthur Petrelli, the company founder, spoke to the group. “Last night was pathetic. We need to take down those so called ‘heroes’ so we can continue with project Hybrid. Without test subjects, we can’t perfect the method to give us all abilities. Unless one of you wants to volunteer…” Mr. Petrelli looked down upon the small group of members, all of whom glanced around nervously. “We need more recruits to complete this task. Clearly our force yesterday wasn’t enough to capture them, so we need more members. But where to get them…any ideas?” Someone piped up that they thought they had head of some people with powers living in the area. “Good…find them. We need more recruits!” The members started to disperse, when Arthur suddenly shouted “Wait! Something’s not right…weren’t there more of us? We were all supposed to meet back here after the battle. Where’s…”
Not much earlier, the heroes had regrouped as well, but somewhere very different. Peter mentioned the fact that they need more people in the group. “We can’t fight this fight alone; we need to recruit others with powers like ours to help us.” The other heroes nodded in agreement. “If we don’t, the company will keep trying to kill us until we’re all dead. It’s a matter of life and death here, and I’d much prefer the former on this one. Well, for us at least.” Peter stood up, “Let’s get recruiting...wait a minute. Someone’s not here.” They looked around, wondering where the missing hero could be at the moment.
They strained to get up, gasping for breath. Collapsing back to the ground, they opened their eyes, squinting in the bright morning sun. They heaved themselves up and dusted themselves off. Their head was pounding, still a little groggy from the night before. “Where am I?” they thought, “What am I doing here? Is this a train yard?” They looked around, taking in the environment around them. “Come to think of it, who am I?” The person wandered around, panicking a little at the unknown. Across the train yard, another person was experiencing similar thoughts and feelings. Those two people headed off from the train yard, in search of the world, and their identities. Not much later, they would discover that they had incredible abilities, and their quest for knowledge would involve them in the battle between the heroes and villains. However, they were each already sided with one those groups, they just didn’t know it. Yet…
|A Dark and Cold-Blooded Night|
|It was a cold crisp night in NY, and a little girl was walking down the sidewalk. She was holding her mothers hand on one side, and a balloon in her other hand. The little girl dressed in a little pink jacket looked up to see the snow flurries filling the night skies over her head. Suddenly she heard her mom shriek as a loud CRASH sounded from just a few feet away in the road. The little girl was startled and let go of her balloon as she turned and looked at the body of Impervious laying crushed into the top of a car parallel-parked on the side of the street. The mother panicked and swooped her child up into her arms… keeping her daughter’s face on her shoulder shielded from the horrible sight, and looking up in the air at the balloon as it floated away. But then, the little girl saw something, just a blur, of something in the sky. But she couldn’t get a good look at it before it was gone. The Heroes had killed Impervious… the night’s battle had begun.
Somewhere else… Niki was testing her new-found strength. It was a wonderful yet destructive gift, but she could use it to the benefit of mankind. Her neighbor, nicknamed ‘DMS’ lived next door to her in room 172. He figured that it was about time that he went out and grabbed some groceries… it was long past time for him to put something in that fridge, the Chinese takeout was getting a little redundant. DMS took the elevator down to the street and hadn’t gotten far when he heard something in the alley next to his building… it sounded like the muffled cries of a woman pleading for help. Being the brave soul that he was, he ventured into the darkness… After some thought, Niki decided that she would go and test her ability. A nice trip to the gym to discover exactly what her limits were, would do nicely. On her way out of the apartments, she heard a terrible noise coming from that alley next to her building. Suddenly a man came running out of the darkness towards her at breakneck speed straight toward her. Niki panicked, and in one swift scared reaction, she swung her arms out to protect herself from the attack. What felt to her like a washcloth hitting the palms of her hands, sent the man flying backwards into the brick wall. His ribs crushed, his lungs punctured, his heart stopping… It was DMS, wearing no jacket, no shoes, no watch… he had been mugged and was running for help, and died… Niki gasped, as she realized exactly how destructive her gift could be.
Not far away, Mekal was minding his own business while he stood next to some cute blonde girl at the bus stop. He had stuff he wanted to do, but something just wasn’t right. His thoughts were elsewhere, and he didn’t even notice the little blonde chick making a b-line towards him with a menacing strut. It was Elle. She was intent on using her abilities, and saw a poor sap standing next to some other chick, waiting at the bus stop. “What a perfect target to see what I can really do” she thought to herself. Her hands glowed brightly as she warmed up for one big burst of energy. Mekal never even had a chance to react… A wave of electricity hurtled at him. ZZZZZZzzzzzzzt, Mekal was thrown out of the way and the wave crashed into the cute blonde girl that had been standing next to him. “OMG” he thought to himself, as he looked up at the girl who was now smoking with her hair standing on end. “That should have killed me… how are you still…” Claire looked down at him and smiled. Then looked up to see nothing… the electric girl had retreated… all she was doing, was testing… she wasn’t looking for a fight… yet.
Star Tiger peered out the window of the corner coffee shop. Her breath fogged up the glass as she watched the snowflakes dazzle the air outside. “Really cold out there today,” the person at the counter said to her. “Yeah I know, I just wish I didn’t have to go back out there,” Star Tiger replied, taking her coffee. The door jingled behind her as Star Tiger headed out into the flurry of snow outside. She put up her hood and hurried down the lonely street of New York. The storm was getting heavier and heavier. As Star Tiger kept walking, it became harder for her to see where she was going. After a few minutes, she realized that she was lost. Not far behind her, someone was tracking the footprints left behind in the snow. Star Tiger turned a corner, when suddenly a gun was put to the back of her head. HRG fired the gun, Star Tiger’s body dropping to the ground amidst the falling snow. The footprints disappeared behind HRG as he walked away, leaving the snow to hide Star Tiger’s body for him.
After a late party at his office, Prince Marth had gone out for a long walk in the snow. He liked the peacefulness and solitude of being surrounded by snow. It was freezing outside, and he was bundled up in his big winter coat. As he walked along, the snow suddenly turned to rain. Prince Marth looked around inquisitively. He could see that it was still snowing a ways ahead of him, but it was raining right where he was standing. Just as suddenly as it had turned from snow to rain, the rain stopped. Prince Marth turned around, noticing that someone was standing there behind him. “It’s easy for me to stay warm in the winter,” laughed Ted, his hands glowing fiercely. Ted left a circular dry patch around where he stood due to the immense heat he generated. Prince Marth turned to run, but the circle closed in and Ted grabbed him. The power surged into Prince Marth, incinerating him instantly. The pile of ash was swept away with the snow, which had resumed falling after Ted cooled down.
“Alright, this time we’ve got them.” The group of company members had decided to work together to attack the heroes, this time directing their efforts at their hideout. “Quietly now, we don’t want them to notice we’re here until it’s too late…for them.” One of the members snuck up to the front door. He looked around stealthily, and then knocked on the door. “You freaking idiot, what the hell did you do that for?” “Shhh…” they replied, “I’m trying to sneak in.” Someone was coming to the door. It was Reaymond. As he opened it, a cold gust of air blew in, along with a pile of snow. He couldn’t see anything outside. The person that had knocked on the door quickly reached out to hit Reaymond, only to be tackled by Nathan. Nathan hurriedly grabbed Reaymond and flew off into the night sky with him, slamming the hide out door as he left. The company members scattered, planning to regroup later that night.
|We Still Have Plans For You...|
|"What's that? Marth never made it back to the rendezvous?" Linderman asked his colleagues after a night of intense action. "Where were was his objective? He couldn't have gotten too far." he said as while he went out into the snow, on a search with a few of the other surviving company members.
About half hour later... "Hey I think I found something!" yelled one of the company agents. They all gathered around on the snow covered sidewalk as the finder began to sift through a black slushy spot on the ground. One after another he began to discover traces of their lost member Marth. First a pistol... then a belt buckle... then... a metal pair of horned rimmed glasses. "Wow, someone must've incinerated him" said the agent as he picked up the glasses. "Ok step aside, I can handle it from here" said Linderman as he knelt to the snow and began to wade his hands through the black ash-stained snow-slush. Then, a series of indescribable events took place as the body miraculously regained its shape and Marth burst forward with life. Once finished, Linderman fell on the ground motionless... completely exhausted from the unusually effortful restoration of his comrade. One of the agents handed a blanket to HRG (no, Linderman cannot resurrect clothing). "Ahem.." Marth cleared his throat as he stared at the contents that the agent was holding in his other hand "I'll be taking those." The agent handed Marth his glasses, and then turned to help the other agents carry the depleted Linderman back to the headquarters. Clutching the blanket close to himself as he walked barefoot through the snow, HRG followed closely behind.
|It was early in the day, and Mr Petrelli decided that he would go get a cup of coffee from the local Spark Bucks. After placing his order for something that I can’t spell, he went to the cashier and laid his cash on the counter. The girl took it and handed him his change. While doing so, as she placed her fingertips into his palm and began to release the coins into his hand, a strange yet familiar feeling swept over her. Everything went into slow motion and she began to feel herself draining. How strange… she normally had so much power, a snap of her fingers could power the building for an hour. She finished handing the man the change and felt faint. She excused herself and went on a break as Mr. Linderman smiled and walked out the door, realizing he had just gotten way more than he paid for. Later that afternoon, Mr. Petrelli announced to the company agents that he had visited Elle, and tonight we would be able to directly assist in the company’s onslaught.
The heroes had a similar agenda in mind. They figured that as long as they attacked as a block, as a group, they would be infallible.
That night, Itachi and Reaymond headed out as a pair… scouting Primitech, searching for a way to discretely identify the members of the company. No sooner had they entered the building before an alarm sounded and they were sealed inside. Suddenly from around a corner, FIF came running to meet the intruders. Sadly, he had not waited for his backup… By the time the other members of the company made it to the scene, it was too late. The Heroes had put a swift end to FIF.
In turn, Mr. Petrelli stepped forward from the group… he grew angry while he looked down at his fallen comrade, and his hands grew blinding white with a dazzling electrical sizzle. In one quick motion he let out a burst of electricity that blew a hole right through Reaymonds torso, almost ripping him completely in half. Then the company turned to Itachi. “You will not finish what you came for” said one of the agents. “But we will finish you.” Itachi, became overwhelmed looking down at reaymond’s corpse. A tear dripped down from his eye, but immediately vaporized. “You will not take me without a fight!” Itachi screamed as he turned into a blinding ball of fiery light. There was no way the company could get anywhere close to him to finish their kill. They would be lucky if they themselves could retreat to safety before… they were gone. The company quickly retreated into the Primatech compound. Over the course of the following minute Itachi grew white hot and exploded so violently that he took the front of the building off. After his explosion he calmed down, and went home… sadly he had vaporized reaymond. But at least he could not be used for the Hybrid.
|Another cold night… HRG heads to his target’s house and peers in the window. “Ah, there he is, watching TV.” HRG thought to himself as he circled back around to the back door. Quietly he crept into the house, but unknown to him, Sinistal had positioned a glass bottle on top of the back door handle. A second after HRG had opened the door there was a loud CRASH as the bottle shattered onto the tile floors. Having lost the element of surprise, HRG sprinted through the house to try and get his kill on Sinistral before he could make it out the front door. But it was no use, someone else was in the house… maybe in the bathroom when HRG was looking in through the window. Bye the time HRG had made it to the room where Sinistral had been, he was gone. Someone had grabbed Sinistral and phased with him right through the wall and off to hide somewhere they would never be found. So HRG put up his gun, and went back to the headquarters.
HRG met back up with the other Company Agents. They discussed a risky plan to take out Itachi head-on and just suffer the consequences or their decision tomorrow. They were going to take him out at all costs. They headed to Itachi’s apartment, and busted down his door. Raided the house without a thought, and began to hit him with everything they had. Itachi became enraged and let out a vibrant radioactive blast… but it was cut short. A bullet to the head, plus various other attacks, overwhelmed him and he fell to the floor lifeless. The company had done it… but they were all contaminated with radiation poisoning, and some were very badly burned… So bad that they knew there was no way they could kill again tomorrow… but they felt that it was worth it.
Hearing of this, the remaining Heroes planned a raid on crazypainter, late into the night. They found her alone in her home… In and out, two minutes and she lay in her bed, alone, and mortally wounded. However, the heroes had not done a through sweep of the vicinity. There was one person that had heard them approaching and decided to hide until the action ad taken place. Once the heroes were gone, Linderman came out of hiding and brought co back from the brink of death.
Earlier, Elle was taking a stroll through the mall, and she was having a great time. She had just bought a new pair of shoes and life was good. She then headed to the food court and bought a large cherry coke to quench her thirst from all the walking. No sooner had she bought the coke, then she bumped into Frost, who spilled the contents all over elle and the brand new shoes in her bag. So, she fried him until he was a hollow shell of a man. Then he hurried out the mall entrance and was gone by the time the boys in blue arrived.
Niki, having learned her own identity and the identity of HRG, went out on a quest to kill Prince Marth. However, she never found him. Because Claire had found him first, and taken him to a place where he would be safe for the night.
|The moon hanging in the clear sky was expansive and blood red. Below, on the frosted streets, braving the frigid wind, two groups of huddled, dark forms were marching purposely towards the plaza from opposite directions. The square was outlined by rows of stolid trees. In the middle of the plaza sat a statue, a tall wavy form which had at the top two sculpted and painted green eyes. These shifty eyes were eager to watch the night’s events unfold.
Sitting below the statue on opposing sides were two blonde women. Both were excited at the prospect of finally meeting up with their true loves tonight. Both were somewhat annoyed at having to endure the solitary wait for so long. Niki flexed her fingers and stretched her neck. Elle twirled her fingers, allowing the electricity to shoot between them. And both were ready to fight.
The first to reach the plaza from the Company was CP. The red moonlight reflected off her eyes and highlighted the fire for battle that was in them. She was seriously hankering to kick some Heroes behinds. But at seeing no one there, her face molded into a pout of disappointment. As she turned around to walk back to meet her group, three shadowy figures sprung out at her. One grabbed her arms and pinned them behind her. The other two approached her from behind. As CP struggled, smile emerged on her lips. This was what she had been waiting for. CP flung her head back, knocking into the head of the attacker behind her, who let go of her arms. Then she leapt forward at one of her other attackers, and succeeded in getting a hold around his neck. Just as she was about to squeeze the life out of him, the third attacker grappled her to the ground. When CP’s head hit the cement it made a sickening cracking sound. Then she ceased to move.
The Heroes pulled themselves up. The fight had taken a lot out of them, and the night was just beginning. They spread themselves out again to search for the other Company members.
DL headed towards the statue in the center of the plaza, remembering that he had a date to keep with his true love, Niki. Seeing DL, Niki jumped up and ran towards him.
Meanwhile, Elle had gotten bored of waiting. She had been waiting for too long. Noticing the motion of the shadows caused by the brawl, she got up and stomped towards it. On her way, she saw the figure of Niki running away from her.
“Her!” Elle cried. “She’s supposed to be dead! Like twice over!” She held her hands up and electric currents sparked around them. Furious, Elle lunged at Niki, intending to fry her opponent.
Just as Elle was about to wrapped her high-voltage arms around Niki, Niki and DL reached each other and embraced each other in their arms. Elle’s arms went through Niki’s body. She cursed. Foiled again!
Intensely jealous at the public display of affection and angry at having been left alone for so long, Elle turned and huffed away. Seeing her leave, DL let off his power. Reluctantly, he pulled back from Niki’s embrace. He smiled at her. There was time for this later. There was more work to be done now. He reached out to take her hand, when…BANG! DL slumped into Niki’s arms.
Back at the dark corner of the plaza where CP’s body lay, a white-haired gentlemen stepped out of the darkness. He looked down at CP’s body with disappointment. Looks like his services were needed. He knelt down by the body and cradled her head in his hands, letting his power of healing flow into her.
In the center of the plaza, a few feet away from Niki and DL, a man lurked in the shadows, holding a smoking gun. He stepped out of the shadows, revealing a pair of horn rimmed glasses. Yes, it was HRG, and he was here to kill SomeGuy.
The smile of satisfaction melted off his lips as he realized what had occurred. His aim had been true, as always, but in front of SomeGuy stood a blonde teenager in a cheerleading uniform. “Cclaire?” he choked in surprise. “What are you doing here?”
“Sorry, dad,” Claire paused to cough up the bullet, which fell to the ground with a metallic clank. “I can’t let you do it.”
Having just finished up with CP, Limeliam walked towards the commotion. A father-daughter quarrel, how sad. Perhaps he could use his years of experience to mediate. Perhaps he could offer them some of his famous home-made pot pie.
Not realizing SomeGuy had just fainted, Niki was livid with anger. She howled in pain and lurched at the nearest target…the white haired old gentlemen who just happened to be walking past her. She grabbed him by the neck and pounded her fist into his head. Taken by surprise, Limeliam could do nothing except watch the world turn into slow motion as Niki’s super-powered blow crushed his skull. At the last moments, he remembered that he forgot to take the pot pie out of the oven. What a waste…
Seeing Linderman fall, HRG forded a hasty retreat, but not before giving his baby girl one last look. Sadness and betrayal filled his usually calm eyes. Claire turned away, unable to return his gaze.
Across the plaza, Elle shot electricity randomly in every direction, tears streaming down her eyes. All she had ever wanted was to be loved. The electricity hit one of the trees, lighting it on fire. Then a figure appeared amidst the flames, and walked slowly through the fire and towards Elle.
CP and HRG met up somewhere around the middle of the plaza. There had been many casualties, but the night wouldn’t be a total loss if they finally managed to find the recruit they’d been looking for for the last several days. They caught sight of the yellow-orange glow from the fire. That had to her. Temper, temper…
Peter held out his arms as he approached her. “It’s okay,” he whispered in her ear. “It will all be over soon.” Elle allowed him to envelop her in his arms. The electricity in her body was running wild. As he held her, her heart beat faster and the electric currents through her body glowed brighter. The electricity flowing through her heart increased and increased and increased, until…*snap*…short circuit.
Kneeling down, Peter tenderly laid the lifeless body of Elle on the ground. He just gazed at her angel-like face with his sad eyes for several moments. Then he blinked and stood up…to be grabbed from behind by CP and HRG. They were furious that he had just killed off the recruit they had spent so much time and effort trying to find. “Son,” CP said, shaking her head. “I’m afraid you’re grounded.” Marth pulled out his gun and shot him straight in the head.
|The Nightmare Becomes Reality|
|It was too late for the Company, the Heroes were surely going to win the war. However, there was a price for their victory, there was going to be a bloodbath coming… and only one person was going to survive. These terrible events, these two sides pitted against eachother… there was nothing to be gained, only bloodshed.
Riding in the back of her car, as her chauffeur was driving through a tunnel late at night, the droning sound of her engine hollowly echoing off the tunnel walls and through the sunroof… She snapped out of her subconscious haze as her car exited the end of the tunnel. Everything she had just seen… it seemed so real. Though of course, this was her ability. Seeing the future is what she does, so it didn’t even cross her mind as being odd. There was only one thing on Mrs. Petrelli’s mind… she had to stop the events she had just seen in her precognitive state. She had seen all of the events happening right that moment at the train yard, and on to 6 days into the future. It was too late to stop the events taking place at the trainyard, but if she could only get to her house. There was something there that she needed, it was her only chance to prevent this baffling loss of life that she had seen.
Mrs. Petrelli ordered her driver to take her to her residence in NY. It was late, too late for parking enforcement to be around. She told her driver to just parallel park on the side of the street and leave the car running, she wouldn’t take long inside. As soon as the car came to a stop, she opened up the door and stepped out onto the sidewalk and into the snow flurries. As Mrs. Petrelli stood up, she turned and looked to see a little girl walking down the sidewalk. She was holding her mothers hand on one side, and a balloon in her other hand. The little girl dressed in a little pink jacket looked up to see the snow flurries filling the night skies over her head…
