Pirates of Penzance
|Link||Pirates of Penzance Mafia|
|Size||10 Players (Small)|
|Roster|| 1) yuiop|
|First to Die||yuiop|
|Last Remaining|| Glycereine|
It began on June 24th, 2010 and ended in a Goodie win in Night 5 (July 5th, 2010).
The game incorporated an order of actions equivalent to the time the action was submitted. See Order of Submission (OOS)
GOODIES: Win if the pirates are eliminated.
- Frederic: Can learn the identity of another player each night.
- Major General Stanly: Can attempt an RID kill each night. Cannot be killed at night.
- Mabel: Can redirect a target each night. If she does not act, she can instead change a vote in lynch during the day.
- Edith: Can send out a warning to any player each day/night cycle. If the warning is sent at night, any actions that might have affected the character are blocked. During the day, the warning can allow the warned player to change someones vote, but only if the vote was originally on them.
- Kate: Can fake an action each night. She chooses a role and a target. The action is posted in the night post, but didn't actually happen. If the action is a kill or an arrest, the night post says it was blocked or something similar. Cannot fake Ruth.
- Isabelle: Can attempt an RID on one arrested player each night. If RID is successful, that player is freed.
BADDIES (Pirates): Win if the Sergeant is eliminated and are in the majority. Has BTSC+ Night Kill
- Pirate King: Can spy on one player each night, learning their identity, and what they did that night.
- Ruth: Being a maid-of-all-work, she gets a random ability each night.
- Samuel: Can block a player each night.
INDEPENDENT: Wins if the majority of the (living) players are in jail.
- Sergeant: Can arrest one person each night. Until the player is freed, they cannot post or act. They are as good as dead. Arrested players can be freed in certain circumstances. A free player may sacrifice himself to free someone in jail, Isabelle (and sometimes Ruth) can free players, and every night, there is a chance of one lucky player escaping. The chance of escaping gets higher with more people in the jail. All of the arrested players are freed if the Sergeant dies.

Day and Night Posts
|Night 1: When the forman bears his steel.|
9:00 Isabelle waited in front of the prison, waiting for Mabel, but Mabel did not come. Obviously Isabelle guessed wrong. 9:30 Ruth (as Samuel) snuck into GMasters cabin/room/office (depending on GMaster's unrevealed role) and quickly tied him to the bed. When Gmaster's alarm woke him up at midnight, he found he could not move. He called for help. Edith arrived. She cut the rope and warned GMaster to leave the area. Whoever tied him down could come back. 9:30 Edith heard a scream. She ran to the source and found GMaster tied to a bed. She cut the rope and warned GMaster to leave the area. Whoever tied him down could come back. 10:30 Major General Stanly woke up. he looked out the window and saw Yuiop's silhouette. The General was suspicious and watched from a distance. He thought he knew who Yuiop was, but none of his actions matched. Sighing, General Stanley went back to bed. 11:00 Slick was about to act on Glycerine but Mabel had other plans. "Why don't you instead act on Slick? He is acting against what you'd like. He intends to act on Filly (not really). Save him if you can. Go to death and go to slaughter. Die and every cornish daughter. Though with tears you grave shall water, go ye hero go and die!" The impact of these words caused Slick to gulp, and accepting Mabel's logic, acted on himself. 11:45 Samuel (as Samuel) caught up to Framm and realized (s)he had already acted for the night and could not be blocked. 12:00 The Pirate King considered spying on Framm, but decided not to as that might mean forfeiting his identity to someone who clearly trusted him. 12:15 Frederic watched as Slick sat quietly. A group of policemen were crowding up on him. He gasped. He knew that face! 12:20 Frederic watched as Slick sat quietly. A group of policemen were crowding up on him. He gasped. He knew that face! 12:30 Yuiop sat quietly watching the effect of her actions on the night. With a crowbar in one hand and matches in another, a pirate hit Yuiop on the head and set fire to Yuiop's cabin. No one would find the body until morning and the fire would serve as a flare to warn the others. Yuiop was no more. 12:45 The Sergeant approached his target, however, the moment he stepped, his foot cracked a stick. His target was on his guard. The Sergeant closed his eyes and randomly picked one of his men. "You do it. He wont recognize you." The selected officer handcuffed Slick and carted him off to prison. 1:00 GMaster saw the fire in the distance. He decided to return. Whatever Edith thought, his friends were in danger. 1:30 The Pirate king grabbed the Pirate that had killed Yuiop. "What did you set fire to the house for?" "No one will know I killed her. They'll think that the fire did." "You idiot! They suspect we're here. Now they have no doubt." 1:30 Slick saw the fire through his cell window, but he couldn't do anything. He was locked in a cell merely because of simple logic. He wasn't against the law! He was sure of it. "They won't last a day without me." 5:00 The Major General woke up. He looked out the window and saw the remains of a cabin. That was were Yuiop lived! Stanley ran towards the cabin and, sure enough, there lay Yuiop's body. "I'll get you for this!" He yelled.
|Day 1: Hostless|
It was close. As Harvey walked up to the gallows he gave his final defence, but it was to late. Frederic was no more.
|Night 2: With Cat Like Tread.|
10:00 General Stanley followed LJayden to see if his suspicions were right. They weren't. 10:30 Mabel approached Filly. "GMaster has been acting suspiciously. Could you take a look for me?" Asked Mabel. "Sure!" He replied. 11:00 Isabelle watched GMaster through the window. He was not who she thought he was. 11:30 LJayden was at Slick's cell window. "I brought a crowbar. Let me get the bars off your window." "No! You'll get caught!" LJ refused to listen to Slick. He pried off the bars, but the cops heard him. "Run. Quick! I'll hold them off." Slick ran and watched as LJ struggled against the policemen, only to be dragged into the prison. "I am eternally grateful." He said, before running away. He knew that the cops would be chasing him. LJ had saved Slick, but was it worth it? 11:31 As it turned out, it wasn't. As he ran, he ran into Ruth (who had an RID kill up her sleeve). "Sorry Slick. I know who you are and it's time for you to die." As she said this, she drew a knife and stabbed him in the heart. She than slit his throat for good measure. On the ground, in Slicks blood, she wrote, "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO OPPOSE THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE" 11:45 It was not one of the Sergeant's better days -- er... nights. LJayden helped Slick escape, only to have Blablah roll a one on his die and have LJ escape! Unless he was dead. No one knows how LJ escaped. 12:00 Framm was waiting for the confusion he had caused to unfold. As he waited, he slipped into sleep. Behind him, there was a pirate holding a crowbar which he got from Ruth who stole it from Slick who retrieved it from LJ. The pirate struck Framm on the head with the crowbar and Framm would move no more. 12:30 Samuel approached Glycerine. He was a strong opponent and needed to be taken care of. Samuel poured some rubbing alcohol onto a rag, and put it in front of Glycerine's face. The effect was almost instantaneous. Glycerine hit the floor. As Samuel left the room, he saw a journal. The latest entry was dated for this night! Glycerine had already acted. Samuel was too late again. 1:00 Slick considered acting, but then remembered. He was dead.
|Day 2: He is an Englishman.|
LJayden knew he was going to die, so he prepared. As night fell, he quickly drew a gun and pointed it towards Glycerine. I'm dead, but I'm not going without a bang. Edith realized what was happening and stood in the path of the gun. Shoot me instead. To hell with this. I've only got one bullet. LJayden put the gun to his head, but before he could shoot, Ruth hit him on the head with a crowbar. At least go with honor you coward. You should talk. Traitor. Were the last words spoken by Samuel the Pirate.
10:00 It was Ruth's idea. Kill Hirk before he could act. According to Ruth, Hirk was a very important goodie and if removed, could mean the difference between winning and losing. But as I write this, Edith sends me a message to protect Hirk. The actions happen at the same time and Ruth sees Hirk jumping out the window. In a fit of rage, she decides to destroy the room. 10:15: The Sergeant grinned. Time to put his plan into action. "Oy Molly!" "Yes?" The Sergeant whipped out his handcuffs and dragged Molly Mae to the prison. But by a stroke of luck involving a three sided coin, a can opener, and an EMail from a person named U.N. Owen, Molly walked free in forty five minutes. 10:30 The Major General had a good idea as to who the Pirate king was, but as he watched Molly Mae step out of the house (with very messy hair at that) something didn't seem right. 11:00 Isabelle watched as Molly Mae walked away from the prison. Was she right or wrong? Molly was free, but it was hard to tell why. Was she even arrested? Probably. Then how did she escape? Slick was dead. Slick was the Sergeant. Right? Isabelle shook her head, confused. 11:30 The Pirate King watched Glycerine. He knew who Glycerine was already, but Glyc was getting closer. He was on the Pirates trail. Contented with what he saw, the King went to see Ruth. 11:45 The Pirate King was angry. "Hirkala got away?" "Yes, but if you're right about Stanely..." "Enough about Stanely! If you are right about Hirkala, it's him we need to worry about!" "But you said Glycerine is the bigger threat!" The King drew his sword. "Enough of this! I'll do this myself!" "No! We need to stay calm. There are only five people left. They're bound to figure us out soon!" The Pirate King sheathed his sword. "You're right. We need to be careful." 12:00 The ghosts of Yuiop and Harvey floated above watching the nights actions. "Do you remember when we were alive?" "Like it was two days ago." "It was two days ago." "Right." Yuiop smirked. "They're so ignorant."
Molly Mae was going to be lynched. There was no doubt about that. She was the mastermind behind this operation. She was taking control. She was the evil bloodthirsty traitor.
Or was she?
Frederic had always admired her, but she betrayed him to the pirates. But Frederic was dead so did that really matter?
Glycerine found a message washed up on the shore in a bottle. It said "Five little soldier boys going in for law. One got into Chancery and then there were four. -- Justice Wargrave" Glycerine read this, shocked. Who was the verse refering to? The Sergeant represented the law, but he was dead!
Confused, Glycerine walked around the island. When he got to the prison, he saw somebody in the distance, under a tree.
"Hello?" He yelled, with no response. He yelled again, and the person still did not respond. Worried, Glycerine ran up the hill. He saw Hirkala watching the person under the tree with a shocked expression on her face. "She killed herself." Hirkala said, hardly daring to believe it.
Ruth was gone. The biggest threat was over.
|Night 4: Soldier boys.|
11:00 Edith passed on her action tonight. She might need it in the morning. 12:00 Glycerine looked at the message. He had not told anyone about it. What would they think? That he was bad, no doubt. He put the letter on his nightstand and went to sleep. 12:05 Glycerine woke. A sound like a door creaking had woken him. Someone was in his room. A shape was huddled over the nightstand, but immediately ran to the door. "Who's there?" Glycerine asked, tentatively. He waited. There was no answer. Glycerine lit a candle and took one more look at the message. A new line was added. "Four little soldier boys going out to sea. A red herring swallowed one and then there were three. -- Justice Wargrave" That sounded ominous. He decided that the next dead person would probably show up at the Pirate Ship. He got out of bed, got dressed, and walked towards the shore. When he got there, someone grabbed him. "I sent a message to everyone. They'll be on the ship looking for your dead body." The Pirate king dragged Glycerine onto the ship were he saw the others. "All right! All of you are trapped on this ship now. The game is up! I know who you all are. GMaster! He thought he was smart eh? He was, and it got him out of trouble good. Filly! You told everyone that you're Isabelle, but are you? Hirkala! I know who you are as of tonight. I saw what you did or didn't do. And Glycerine! You are the reason they are all here! They thought you were dead, and now, you will be. You are the red herring." With that, the Pirate King threw Glycerine overboard. "And don't try swimming to shore! I run a ship of the dead, and the dead travel fast." Glycerine looked around and found he could not see the shore. He looked one last time at the ship before I started writing the next part of the story. 12:30 The three suspects were trapped in a small room. There was just enough light to identify each other. "Which one of us is the King?" Asked Filly. "I don't know." Replied Hirkala. At that moment, a paper was pushed under the doorway. "It's from the King!" "What does it say?" GMaster spoke for the first time. "It says, 'One of you is me, you still have not found the read herring, and the figurehead of this boat looks like a bear.'" "A bear?" Hirkala grinned. "Three little soldier boys going to the zoo, a big bear hugged one and then there were two." Hirkala stopped grinning. "Who's next?" 12:45 Glycerine considered. The King had said he was the red herring. But that could only mean-- He gasped. They had been set up. The Pirate King intended to kill someone else! Glycerine started swimming and caught up with the ship in five minutes. 1:00 Everyone was released from the cabin. The Major General lunged towards Filly. "You're a dead man. I know who you are." "You're wrong." Interrupted the king . "You don't know who he is. But you are right about one thing, he is a dead man." With that, the King grabbed Filly and threw him overboard. 1:30 There were three people left. Of those three, the rhyme accounted for one. The next verse is the most ominous. "'Two little soldier boys sitting in the sun. One got fried and then there was one.'" Read Glycerine. "But there are three of us here." "You were the red herring." Replied GMaster. "That leaves me and Hirkala." "No it doesn't." "Excuse me?" "Remember what Blablah said? 'Note that the clue is purely for the story. It doesn't relate to anybodies role or actions.'" "We've been set up." "Yes. We've been set up."
Hirk was going to be lynched.
Or was he?
At the last second, Edith took Glycerine away leaving Hirk and GM.
The lynch was tied.
|Night 5: Finale: I am the very model of a modern major general.|
Tonight was short. GMaster grabbed his pistol. He had no need for secrecy tonight. He approached Hirk who did not hear him coming. One shot, and Edith was dead.
Glycerine stood outside the cabin door. "Just us left. The games up." With that, Major General Stanley killed the Pirate King in some boring manner that isn't worth writing about.
