It began on November 21st, 2010 and ended in a Baddie win in D4 (December 2nd, 2010).
The game featured 12 puppets and 12 puppet masters. The puppet masters would sign up via PM and would control their respective puppets night actions. Then the puppets who would have signed up in the thread as normal, would wake up and receive the result of their night action and be forced to defend themselves having no control over what they just did. The idea was to split up the two elements of Mafia, those being Night Actions, and Lynching and force the pair (Puppet, Puppet Master) to work together without direct communication.
- Lynches - First time tied = No lynch, afterwards random player in tie is lynched
- NO revealing your role, or you lose it's ability. Hinting is fine as long as it is not blatant.
- Do NOT reveal who your Puppet Master is, or you will lose your action for the night and vote for the next day cycle.
- As for secret codes, I don't mind something hinting to the puppeteer what you think should be your choice of action. Just it can't be a something cryptic. (i.e No A=G, B=J, etc ...)
- All successful actions will be mentioned in night posts. The rest will not. If someone is blocked/saved and then targeted by more than one person, I’ll flip a coin to see which action is blocked or the person is saved from, except in the case of a kill, in which the person will be saved from the kill. If one of the actions would’ve been unsuccessful, the save/block will go to the action that would’ve been successful.
- Baddies' kill is not blockable and can only be prevented through a save.
Baddies: Have BTSC and Night Kill.
Wincon: Outlast the goodies. Only One Puppet Master
- Charlie Horse - Block - Sings "This is the song that doesn't end"...until the puppet is too confused to act
- Jack-in-the-Box - Spy - Can pop up on a puppet when it's least expected and observes his or her action for that night
- Scarface - Redirect - Being a Crimelord, he can hire someone to "convince" a puppet to change his or her target
Goodies Wincon: Eliminate the Baddies and Indy
- Triumph the Insult Dog - Kill - Can insult one puppet until he or she is led to committing suicide
- Kermit - Save - Can soothe one puppet to perfect health by singing one of his songs
- Yoda - Block - Uses his skills with the force to resist one attacker
- Woody from Toy Story - RID Lynch Save - Can gather the rest of Andy's toys to save one puppet from a lynch. Target must be chosen at night.
- Mr. Man-niquin Vote Manipulation - No Puppet Master - Can mani-pulate votes 0x, 1x, 2x
- Gollum - Bodyguard - Can die to save one person, if he thinks that person has the ring of power (which has nothing to do with the storyline), if that player is targeted by a kill
- Pinnochio - Trap - Traps one puppet for a Night/Day cycle and can ask one question. He uses reverse magic to make his or her nose grow if he or she lying
- Willie, the Twilight Zone dummy - Ability Copier - Has learned how to take over the abilities of other puppets and can do so once per night. It is random and never the same puppet twice in a row.
- Chuckie (No Puppet Master) - Secret WinCon and Secret Ability. Roll of dice: 1) Save 2) Kill 3) Spy 4) Block 5) Trap 6) Own choice.
Game Idea and Expectations
- JarZe - Puppet Master
- Glycereine - Charlie Horse
- JarZe (Seahorse) - Jack-in-the-Box
- Molly Mae (Gramir89) - Scarface
Day and Night Posts
|Narrator: Welcome to Mafia Troupe, a world in which reality has been turned upside down for our main actors, the puppets. While it is true that they are controlled and manipulated by their masters, these puppets are no mere toys. They do not breathe; but they live. They do not have hearts; but they can feel - especially when they are shattered into a million pieces or chopped up to use as firewood. Both cruel and kind are the various masters. The former are little more than glory seekers and have joined forces to create an alliance in order to destroy the rest and receive the adulation that they believe is due to them. The kind-hearted masters have been forced into a war, where they must destroy the wicked puppets and masters in order to save themselves and their own puppets. And Chuckie...No one knows exactly what his plan is, but judging by his track record, it cannot be good.
The puppets are now part of an unwritten story which is unfolding before a captive audience. The stage is now set for Act I to begin...
|Act 1, Night
The curtains opened.
A huge banner welcomed the audience to Pleasure Island, a land where boys could run free, indulging themselves in all sorts of immoral activities without fear of consequences. Or so they believed.
From left stage entered Pinocchio. He carried a foamy beer in his hand, clearly needing another lesson in sobriety, lest he make an ass out of himself. But tonight the magic would not turn him into a donkey. Tonight Pinocchio would charm the magic to work for his own uses. He couldn’t get away with telling lies, and he had found a way to ensure that others would be forced into truth telling.
He walked down the street, whistling to himself about becoming a real boy.
“Sparrowhawk, wait for me!”
Sparrowhawk turned to look at the wooden boy. “Yes?”
“Let me buy you a beer! I know of a great little tavern on the other side of the island that we could go to.”
Sparrowhawk was no lush, but he couldn’t turn down a free beer. Not on Pleasure Island, where he had come to have fun. “Sure, just point the way.”
Just then, Kermit came hopping on stage, singing, “You put the lime in the coconut, you drink them both up…”
Some of the male audience members rolled their eyes. The hushed whispers could be heard throughout the theater. “Is this a musical? You didn’t tell me there would be song and dance numbers!”
Pinocchio, however, wasn’t bothered by the complaints. He sat, entranced by Kermit’s voice. He was very easy to please, after all. Before long, Sparrowhawk arose from his seat beside the little boy and made his way to the nearest tavern.
The stage darkened as a side stage lit up, revealing a salt mine. Izzy wandered there, looking at crates, some hammers, and eventually a pickaxe.
Izzy (and the audience) jumped in surprise at Jack-in-the-Box. Before she could recover, Charlie Horse and Scarface had grabbed her arms, leaving Jack to the pickaxe. Within moments, Izzy’s strings were cut, and she fell limply to the ground.
The audience gasped in horror.
|Act I, Day
Back on Pleasure Island, smoke rose as the fuel that had once been Izzy became smoldering ash. The puppets had gathered together, certain that one amongst them was the guilty party. Accusations rang out, and Gramir and Filly began tying RainThinker to raised pole. Glycereine and Vine chanted, "Kill RT! Kill RT!" Golfjunkie prepared to set another fire, but at last minute saw reason. "How can we be sure that we are not killing an innocent man? Are you prepared to have his blood on your hands?" Someone shouted out from the crowd, "Puppets don't bleed!" But golfjunkie's point was taken. Hastily the puppets retreated to the relative safety of the taverns.
|Act II, Night
The house lights shone on center stage, where Pinocchio sat on a bench.
“Hello there, Rainthinker!” Pinocchio called out. “Won’t you let me buy you a beer?”
Rainthinker stopped midstep. “Well, I suppose just one won’t hurt.”
Off they traipsed into the night.
Onto the stage came Willie, the infamous Twilight Zone dummy. He quickly darted behind the bench, just as strings pulled EDM into the light. She took a seat on the bench, and Willie jumped out at her.
“I SEE YOU!” he screamed. Before she could get her wits about her, he took off toward the carnival rides.
What EDM didn’t foresee was that another living doll was hiding, not behind the bench, but under it. The redheaded doll climbed up onto her lap. With a twisted smile, he pulled a knife out from behind his back and plunged it deep into EDM’s unbeating heart.
The women in the audience screamed in horror.
The stage darkened, and once again the salt mine was lit up on the side stage.
Eyes wide, Filly entered the mine. “I wonder what this toy does,” he said to himself. He wound its little knob, and out popped a Jack-in-the-Box.
“You better run, little horsey, before we get you!”
Charlie Horse and Scarface were coming out of the woodwork.
Filly was brave, but he knew when he was outmatched. He fled without giving Jack and his friends a second glance.
“It ain’t easy being green…” Kermit was on a mission tonight. He was going to save golfjunkie, who had wandered into the precarious-looking mine.
He just wasn’t quick enough. The deadly trio was awaiting his arrival. They tore golfjunkie limb to limb, until all that was left was a mangled children’s toy that would be picked up with that week’s garbage.
|Act II, Day (Dead men tell no lies)
The day started off slow, with the few puppets that were there wondering where everybody was, as well as, hoping that Manfred did not make an unannounced comeback. The rest of the Puppets final showed up as the clock was ticking down, and started throwing out accusations as to who to get rid of. Finally, after arguing between themselves for a couple of hours, they decided to let fate decide who would be lynched. They put Nick, Vine, and Seahorse onto the stage and set up a ballista to randomly put an end to the day. “THREE!, TWO!, ONE!” yelled the other puppets, as the puppets on stage stood waiting their fates. *Thwip* went the bolt, as Vine gave one last yelp. As the puppets came back on stage to see the carnage, they found a wish list of Vines stating that all he wished for was to be a real person and not just some puppet on a string.
|Act III, Night
Sparrowhawk decided to take a ride on the ferris wheel. Before the ride technician could close the door, little feet clambered up onto the seat next him. Startled and fearful, sparrowhawk nearly jumped out of his seat. “Wh-what do you want, Chuckie?”
“Relax,” Chuckie responded. “They took my knife away when I got in line. I just wanted to get a good look at your face.”
The technician started the giant wheel, and before long, they were at the very top, lighting up the night sky.
“O-oh…” stuttered sparrowhawk. “That’s good news for me, I suppose.”
But those words had no longer left his mouth when Charlie Horse appeared on the side of sparrowhawk’s bucket, held up by an invisible hand. “This is the song that never ends…” With one quick jab at the neck with his powerful teeth, Charlie grabbed sparrowhawk, lifted him out of his seat, and spit him onto the ground.
Scarface entered the stage and faced the audience. “I need one volunteer.”
Molly Mae stood up and waved his hand eagerly. “Ooh, pick me, pick me!”
Scarface gestured for MM to come up on stage and then whispered in his ear. MM’s face twisted in a grin.
“Hey, Rainthinker,” MM called out. “I have someone better for you to target tonight.” Off into the wings he went.
On the park bench, Jack sat, hidden away in his lonely box. LJayden came strolling by. Like a child who should know better, he grabbed the knob and turned it until up popped Jack. “Peek-a-boo! I see you!” LJayden ran away screaming.
Triumph entered the scene, followed closely by Glycereine, who took up residence on the bench.
“Hey Glyc, did you know your name is spelled wrong? How dumb are you?!”
“Don’t be a jerk, dog.”
“Dog? Have you looked in a mirror lately? More importantly, have you seen your mom’s face recently? Now there’s a dog that even I wouldn’t go near!”
“Shut up, man!”
“Can’t take the heat? I had to tell your mom that I couldn’t take it when she was in heat!”
“That’s it man, I can’t do this anymore!” shouted Glyc. He ran to the southern shore of the island. With a jagged rock he picked up along the way, he scraped a large chunk of meat off of his arm. He dove into the ocean and swam out as far as he could. As expected, a man-eating shark lay in wait for just such an opportunity. Glyc quickly became the meal.
Some of the weaker-stomached audience members threw up in the aisles.
|Act III, Day (CHUCKIE WINS…NOT)
The Replaced Puppets were all too happy to start talking. Phaze started things off by saying that Molly was the one that needed to be chucked into the Wood Chipper, but Molly cried out no Filly needs to go he is trouble for sure. Phaze started to sulk, saying that he knew what he was talking about, but no one ever trusts me. Filly finally showed up just as they had come to throw him into the wood chipper.
As they were tying Filly up so that there was no chance of him escaping. He suddenly started to laugh manically. “You fools, took y’all long enough to lynch me. This is what I have wanted since the start.” Just as he was thrown into the machine, strings appeared on him and pulled him out. “W-w-what is going on” Filly fumed. “You are not going to be rewarded for hiding in the shadows. You are going to come with us and be deprived of your wish to finally find death.” Framm said. NOOOO!!!! Was the last thing that they heard from Filly.
|Act IV, Night
It was a quiet night. Jiminy Cricket could be heard, chirping a mournful song. The rides were no longer operating, and even most of the pubs and taverns had closed up for the night.
This was the scene into which Phaze stumbled, drunk as a skunk, barely managing to walk down the street, even with strings steering his every movement. He took the last sip of a can he held in his hand. He then tossed it at an uncovered trash can.
"Umph!" came a muffled cry.
"Who's there?" Phaze asked. Without a second thought, he placed both hands on the sides of the trash can and peered inside.
"POP GOES THE WEASEL!" Jack sang at the top of his lungs, a layer of trash hanging from his sides.
If Phaze had had a heart, he would've died of a heart attack right then.
But he was a puppet and it was a cold night. Jack and Scarface took their trusty pickaxe. Phaze put up a fight, but he couldn't get away. The master was cold, and he wanted a fire. Poor Phaze made great fuel.
|Act IV, Final Day
The final four puppets were gathered together tired of everything that had transpired over the last few days. ScarMM and WoodNick started to fight as Willieox and JarZe in the Box were in the corner trying to hide from the arguing. MM pulled a gun on Nick as they were arguing saying that he was obviously the one that put the rest of the baddies up to the task of trying to destroy what the rest of the puppets had built here. Just as Nick was hoping that he could pull Fox on his side, she started to walk behind MM saying that what MM was saying made more sense than what he was saying. Dismayed with what was happening, Nick grabbed the gun out of MM’s hand and pulled the trigger before anyone could react.
As Fox realized that Nick was actually on her side, she turned to Jarze pleadingly. Please say that you are on my side. Then she heard a familiar song that made her shudder.
This is the song that never ends. yes it goes on and on my friends. Some people... started singing it not knowing what it was, and they'll continue singing it, forever just because...
As she heard this she let her head drop as MM pulled the trigger and lodge the bullet right where her brain would be if she was real.
MM and JarZe laughed as they had pulled off the ultimate task of taking control over the Puppets.
