TimeKeeper's Hell was a game designed and hosted by KlueMaster based on his own idea.
It began on June 11, 2012 and was stopped and restarted by the host on June 14, 2012 due to mass outing. The second round, which started on June 21, 2012, ended in a Baddie win in N3 (June 28) (no official ending).
Game Mechanics[]
Rules[]
- Borda voting with weights [3, 2, 1] (Reference: Borda voting)
- Phase Skip / Reset >> Shrink > Tyrant > Knight > Gunsmith > Priestess > Lady
- Tie lynch => random lynch
- All kills are blocking
- Contents of Night Post
- block - along with targets
- follow spy - without targets
- kill attempts - along with targets
- potion targets (if they were targeted by other players)
- Contents of Day Post won't specify whether vote modifier/nullifier was used.
Role Description[]
Baddies (BTSC + NK + Powerplay)
- Tyrant - He is a total bad-ass who believes in snatching whatever he fancies
(Can redirect any player to a random target)(RID kill every night). Cannot be killed except lynching. - Knight - He is the trusted captain of royal army, he is the most powerful person in the entire universe. Can stop anyone from acting during a cycle (block during night, vote nullify [0, 0, 0] during day - both available in same cycle).
- Lady - She is the secret informer of Tyrant who can keep watch on anyone's whereabout under the cover of darkness (follow spy).
Goodies
- Leader - He is leading the rebels against the tyrant. Has more powerful voice than the rest (Permanent vote multiplier of x2 => [6, 4, 2]).
- Shrink - A dreamer who failed at creating anything useful except a magic potion. The magic potion makes a person completely immune to any night action, however the person can act as usual. Unfortunately, while brewing the potion he developed some kind of allergy, so can't use the potion himself.
- Gunsmith - He is waiting for the day when Leader will realize that Tyrant is not going to listen to voice of the reason, and violence is the only way forward
(Night kill)(RID kill every night). - Priestess - A religious woman, she can divine a person each night and know his/her prospects. (Will get to know who all acted on a selected person, actions wont be revealed and actors of only successful actions will be told)
- 4xRebels - They are opposing the Tyrant, but are largely powerless unless asked to opine about someone's character.
Timekeeper's Ability[]
Initially, a timekeeper will be chosen from among the goodies, and he shall be provided with a sand clock that will measure the time exactly equal to the remaining life of timekeeper. This time will be random (between 1 to 9 phases) and timekeeper will be told how much life he has remaining. Once the sand runs out, current timekeeper dies. When a timekeeper dies (through game play or time sand running out) a new timekeeper will be chosen at random from among the surviving goodies, with random time sand.
A timekeeper can chose to reset current phase or skip next phase exactly once in his lifetime. In case of a phase skip, end of current phase will be followed by the same phase of next cycle. An announcement to the same effect will be made in the end of phase post.
In case of a phase reset, he MUST name a player which will be barred from participating in the revised current phase. Timekeeper can tell the name of the person being barred anytime before the end of reset phase, failing which Timekeeper himself will be barred. The person will be barred though the same will not be announced (except in the phase end post). The phase will continue as usual, and the end of phase post will be sent to timekeeper so that he can know what would've been the alternate reality. That's when the phase will be reset with an announcement of the same will be made in the game thread instead of the end of phase post.
In case of a phase reset, Timekeeper can tell the name of the person being barred anytime during the resetted phase (before the end of phase). The person will be barred though the same will not be announce
While, resetting current phase will effectively elongate the cycle, skipping a phase will completely remove the phase from the cycle. Skipping the phase will also effectively reduce the life of timekeeper.
Host's Summary[]
Time keeper missed two opportunities in this game. Goodies also goofed in clearing baddies. Had nana been time keeper perhaps result could have been different. But for this game MVP goes to aura.
Winning Faction[]
Baddies
- Slick - Tyrant
- Aura - Knight
- Framm - Lady
Day and Night Posts[]
First Game[]
Night 1: A Night to Remember |
---|
"Bhoot pishaach nikat nahi aave, Mahaveer jab naam sunave"* Akriti was reciting this religious verse continuously coz she was scared. She was walking back to her lodgings from a friend's place in the dead of the night. Having heard a few scary stories instead of having dinner was a regrettable thing in hindsight. However, in this world of dying magic and budding menace, there is little use of faith. A religious prayer couldn't stop Lady from following her, right until she entered her lodgings.
Priestess was worried about mew. The naughty little kid keeps getting himself in to problems. Does he know the neighbourhood is not as safe as it used to be? She thought it will be a good idea to divine him and keep a watch on him. In her mind she saw mew being confronted by Knight who kept question mew regarding his whereabouts and motives for loitering away from his home. Mew was just crying instead of speaking a word. Tyrant was in a good mood tonight. It had been a long time since he left his palace to have some casual fun. For him, casual fun meant shooting at random strangers. Now, all of a sudden these rebels had started taking offence at this nice little fun habit of his. At the moment, he saw a guy in orange toga emerging from a side alley. "Looks like someone I can kill" he thought. From among his weapons, he chose a lance for this purpose. There was nothing GMaster could do against the Tyrant making a game of him. |
Day 1: Day When the World Skipped a Beat
Day 1: Day When the World Skipped a Beat |

Day was kinda frustrating for the creator. Everyone was claiming to be a superhero. If that's how the things stand, a doomsday won't be such a bad idea after all, to wash away all their super hero egos. A couple of glasses helped to wash away such grave thoughts for the moment.
In the volley of such outrageous claims, someone claimed to have seen Aura donning the armor of the knight. As none else seemed to have seen Aura around the previous night (and she is quite a night person as per general opinion), they considered the claim to be rightly placed. So, they dragged Aura to the stake, while eyeing Gare suspiciously all the while. Every once in a while they'll also throw a glance at FT. Slick, EDM, Bb and Framm were also looked at suspiciously by few. But, finally Aura could take it no more. "What a bunch of wussies you are? You think you've an idea of who is a baddie, and you go all out? I mean where is that grey matter I keep hearing so much about? Now, I've full roster and what do you have? Good that I'm dying, coz beyond this point game would nor require any real application of brain". TimeKeeper took offence to it, and immediately announced "By the power vested in me, you will forget that this day was to be followed by a night." Having said this, he fell dead. A sand clock was seen flying out from his clothes. |

Creator was annoyed. He had created Timekeeper to control the universe, instead Timekeeper had become a tool that others were controlling. Everyone was outing their identities just because there is no explicit rule, and no one bothers about the game etiquette. People go so far as suggesting PM repping. Creator is again considering the doomsday.
For now the game has been stalled. I'm trying to figure out a way to salvage the game that has been ruined by the mass outing. If I find a way then the game will resume from this point (with some necessary changes), else I'll scrap the game. |

Night 1 : Dark Night Rises |
---|
A rebel was blabbering in the town square: "Sometimes I wonder, what has this world come to? A person doesn't trust his neighbors any more. Not that the neighbors had been particularly good to warrant any trust. Still, a general courtesy is missing. Otherwise, what business was it of Lady to follow someone the entire night, wherever he goes?"
"At least the buggers have learned to crib. Just a few days ago I was worried how shall we have an uprising in this town where people don't mind being oppressed", thought the Leader. "Before this, none would have paid any attention to the Knight interrogating Marq, without any apparent reason". But last few days have turned their world upside down; there had been a few violent attempts. Leader had received reports of Gun Smith training his guns at Fat Tony in his stupor last night, blabbing he is going to kill Tyrant and settle the matter. Someone had to explain to him that Tyrant cannot be killed at night, but nobody bothered. Similarly, Tyrant had chosen to kill Andrew, thinking him to be leader of the rebellion. But, something diverted his attention at the last moment, and he missed his aim. He got angry, and targeted a random passer by. This time the aim was true, and Gare fell. Shrink was wondering whether he had wasted his potion on Aura, but before the end of night, it came to use. |
Day 1 : End of Violence |
---|
Gare was dead, and none was to be trusted; some even less than the others. It started with a spat between Nana and GM, and votes started piling up on both. Someway down the line FT's ominous absence was also suspected, and people started demanding a man hunt. Finally FT showed up, but it was not very convincing to some people. Slowly and steadily, Nana was able to move the votes off her. However, EDM kept on accumulating the same in her place.
By the end of the day, EDM and GM stood tied for the noose. Finally a coin toss acquitted GM, while EDM was doomed to be hanged. She was also asked to surrender her gun license, as she won't need it anymore. |
Night 2 : Before Sunrise |
---|
Since, I don't have much time and also night 1 post confused a few people; here are the happenings from last night.
Knight killed mew, and blocked Andrew. Lady followed someone. Tyrant tried to RID kill Nana without success. |
Day 2 : Time Out |
---|
Things were desperate for goodies. With 3 deaths in 3 phases, they had to get rid of at least 1 baddie. Accusations were made, words were exchanged, people slacked at defense, neighbors defended neighbors. Finally it was going to between Slick, FT, Aura and Framm. A pushing here and a tugging there, and Framm was lynched.
Goodies rejoiced once they came to know that they've killed Lady. But their happiness was short lived as, Marq timed out about the same time. |
