Game Mechanics[]
Rules[]
- OOP: block>RID Kill>save>kill>trap>redirect>spy
- Basically means that all actions go through unless acted upon by another action. Then I follow OOP.
- DRAGON IMMUNITY TRUMPS EVERYTHING.
- Dragon RID can be blocked, but not saved.
- Kills are blocking. So if A kills B, and B kills C, B will die and C will not be killed.
- Baddie NK can be saved, but not blocked.
- Only spies who were redirected will be told so.
- For lynch ties: D1 tie means no one dies, after that is individual coin toss as to who dies.
- Spies and redirects do not show up in the NP. So blocks, kills, saves [unused ones included], and traps DO show up.
- Indy win ends the game.
- Ogre trap acts as block but not a save, and includes a day trap (no posting, voting, can not be lynched).
Q&A
- If the dragon kills the unicorn first, then both the prince and princess die at the hands of lynches or baddies, does the dragon win then?
- yes
- If the dragon fails then decides to kill everyone then the dragon is the last one standing, is it a win or draw?
- I would say dragon wins. That, or dragon is mod killed if the last of the dragon's targets die? Miki's call on that one.
- If the dragon manages to kill the princess N1, is it just game over?
- yes (but maybe game could play on for 2nd place?)
Role Description[]
Goodies- [WINCON=Kill the Indy and the Baddies]
- Princess: She is always being trapped in a tower of some sort, and this gets lonely, so she uses her charm and beauty to ensnare anyone she sees into spending the night talking to her. (block)
- Prince: Always a hero, the prince is constantly trying to rescue the princess. (save)
- Unicorn: A very independent creature but loyal to the princess, the unicorn gets ticked off easily and is prone to running things through with his horn. (kill)
- Witch: Trying to make up for her evil husband, the witch can use her spells to confuse the princess's enemies. (redirect)
- Fairy: Full of magic as she is, the fairy can transform herself into whosoever she chooses. (role copy)
- Sparrow: The sparrow is the princess's very best friend and tells her everything. With his amazing ability to fly high above the world, the sparrow can see everything. (role spy)
Baddies- Have NK and BTSC [WINCON=Be in the majority]
- Troll: The troll is the essentially the tollbooth to the passageways through the kingdom. He has confusing riddles that you must answer correctly in order to pass. Rather than try to answer his riddles incorrectly and be eaten, most travelers opt to go a different route. (redirect)
- Ogre: The princess will make a tasty treat, so the ogre has trapped her in a tower for later. He has extra towers at his disposal for anyone else who displeases him. (trap)
Indy- [WINCON=Bring about the death of the Princess. If she dies at another's hand, bring about the death of the Prince. If he dies as well, bring about the death of the Unicorn. Must be the one to kill the target.]
- Dragon: The dragon is getting closer and closer to death, and wants to feel the thrill of the kill one more time. However, he can feel his creaky bones, and if he feels like there's danger in the air, he will give up the thrill in order for the prtection of his cave. (RID kill; can trade this kill for immunity against any and all actions whenever he so chooses. Will protect him only for the night, and can still be lynched. If spied under immunity, he will show up as a random living goodie.)

Prologue |
---|
The princess sighed and leaned forward to look out the window. She had somehow been trapped again by the ogre. She was stuck in a high tower with no stairs, no doors, nothing, waiting and waiting for a prince to come save her. She started rebraiding her long hair to waste time, but stopped when she saw her friend the sparrow flying towards her. He alighted on her outstretched finger and chirped. "Well, hello there!" she said cheerfully. "And how was your day?"
The unicorn trotted through the trees surrounding the tower, protecting the princess from the evil wizard who was sure to come and try and win her hand. Though he answered to no one but himself, the princess had saved his life once when her father, the king, was hunting him. He would forever be in her debt, and tried to pay some of this off by returning the favor and protecting her. The witch looked into her cauldron, sighing as she saw her husband up to no good again. Using her mystical powers, she put a spell on him that would block his magic for a few days. She then got up and started to create some potions, all the while waiting for her good friend, the fairy. As the fairy flew in, the witch got out a potion for her. "Here, it's that shape shifting potion you wanted," she said, and turned back to her work. The dragon was curled in his cave, biding his time. He was getting old, and wanted to feel the thrill of raiding once more before his death. Making a decision, he struggled to his feet, then flew out of the cave, looking for some tasty-looking victims. |
Night 1 |
---|
The troll and ogre met to discuss what to do for the night. "Troll hungry for somebody to eat! Troll go find body and eat it!" The troll exclaimed with a sickening grin. "No, no. You must guard the bridge tonight, and I have duties as well. But do not worry, I have hired a rogue to bring us a tasty meal." With that, the ogre clapped his hand and a figure stepped out of the shadows. The rogue was clad in earthy brown except for his green gloves and hooded cape, which kept his face hidden in darkness. He caught the bag of coins and took a moment to feel its weight before putting it away and dragging a large sack into the light. He opened the sack to reveal Fat Tony's lifeless body. "Pleasure doing business with you gents," the rogue raspily said as he turned to leave. "Wait!" cried the ogre. "Do you think you could bring us something a little fresher tomorrow night? Still alive would be wonderful." "I'll see what I can do," the rogue replied before vanishing. Later that evening, after having feasted on Fat Tony and licking his bones clean, the two parted ways. The ogre was looking for someone to fill one of his towers, but who? Just then he heard someone whistling. He hid himself in wait as the whistling drew nearer and nearer, until it was close enough he could reach out with his enourmous arms and grab its source, SMV! SMV was terribly startled by this and by the sight of the intimidating ogre. Begging for mercy did no good, SMV was soon locked away in a tower. The unicorn saw TheChad coming towards the princess's tower. "He's a threat," thought the unicorn. Without a second thought, the unicorn ran forward and gored TheChad through the heart. Luckily, TheChad died peacefully. |
Day 1 |
---|
DISCLAIMER: Roles and such are only for story purposes. The DP makes no allusions to who may have died and who is still alive. All the good creatures gathered around the princess's tower so that they could hold a meeting. They all wanted to get rid of the disgusting creatures who threatened their safety. First, though, grievances had to be offered. The prince dug a grave for TheChad and Fat Tony, and all the animals helped lower the two in. "They were very brave," sniffled the princess, while the sparrow brought a handkerchief to her so she could dry her eyes. When the funeral was over, the creatures grew serious. Versions of "It's time we did something about this!" rang out in the clearing. By popular consent, the prince became the leader. He thought for several moments before deciding, "Very well, we will put it to a vote. Who do we think deserves to die?" The creatures offered up the names of Ravyn Gale and Roy-chan. "Okay then, all who believe Ravyn Gale threatens our freedom, say ay!" Half the creatures said "Ay!". "All who believe Roy-chan threatens our freedom, say ay!" The other half of the creatures said "Ay!" The prince pondered for a while, then said, "Because we do not have a majority agreement, both Roy-chan and Ravyn Gale will go free! This meeting is adjourned!" And grumbling and groaning, the group departed. |
Night 2 |
---|
The creatures of the FairyTale World were extremely quiet tonight. Nobody was keen to act, fearing discovery and death. Instead, only one person tentatively traveled through the dark. The prince set up a campsite slightly away from SMV and drew his sword. He stayed awake the whole night, ready to protect his ally from anything that might attack him. Sadly, his effort was wasted, and all he gained was insurmountable exhaustion. |
Day 2 |
---|
A new day dawned on the FairyTale World, and with it came heavy suspicion. "Why should I trust you?" asked mboon of marhart. "You have hardly any defense and have spoken very little! How can we be sure you are not a baddie in disguise?" Hearing mboon's accusation, the others also started tentatively voicing their suspicions. In retaliation, marhart's proxy, thalia, said to mboon, "Is this an attempt to frame me when you are the real baddie? I am a goodie, and you are the real baddie!" Over the course of the next few hours, the FairyTale creatures attacked and defended their positions, trying to root out the evil hiding among them. Evetually, the prince arrived. He had been catching up on the sleep he had missed last night. "Settle down, settle down!" he yelled, and all the creatures quieted. "Since we have very little information on how to rid our kingom of this menace, once again, we shall put it to a vote. All creatures whisper their vote in my ear, and I shall tally them." One by one, the animals whispered names into the prince's ear. "Alright," said the prince eventually. "The most recurring names were those of mewminator and flamebirde. However, one of these people had the majority. Unfortunately, the person who the general public believes to be evil, and the person whose identity we will discover today is...." The prince paused for dramatic effect, and also to yawn discreetly. "Mewminator!" Within seconds, all the creatures with the exception of the princess mobbed mewminator, hoping to discover his true identity. Soon after, the creatures drew back, looking at the mangled corpse of the ogre. |
Night 3 |
---|
The FairyTale creatures had decided that tonight would be the night to act. They had waited long enough, and the death of the ogre had heartened them. The troll, enraged by the loss of his comrade, arranged a meeting with the rogue. "I angry! Want revenge!" he snarled. "You kill leader!" The rogue bowed gracefully and slid out of sight. Some distance away, he came across mboon giving orders to a group of animals. "The troll didn't specify which leader," the rogue thought, and shot an arrow at mboon's heart. The arrow struck home, and mboon died before she knew what hit her. The Fairy stopped rummaging through her stores, pulling out a small vial with a pale blue liquid inside. She held it up to a lamp, making sure it was the real deal. Smiling with satisfaction, she uncorked the tiny container and swallowed the potion. Within seconds, her appearance had changed, and she had gained an ability. She ran out the door, ready to gather information so she could use her ability the following night to its fullest extent. The Princess was gazing out of her window. Though her animal friends were keeping her company, she was quite lonely and looking for someone to hold a decent conversation with. Suddenly, she glimpsed a flash of bright green shining through the woods, and recognized it as coming from Hidden G. "Oh, G!" she called, turning her charms on to the fullest. "Come talk to me! I'm so so very bored." Hidden G, enchanted by her beauty, immediately abandoned his errand to spend the night talking to the Princess and basking in her beauty. The Prince prepared himself for another sleepless night. He rode through the land, stopping eventually at the door of smoth. He knocked on the door and was quickly let inside. "I am here to protect you," he said to smoth, and stationed himself just inside the door. He drew his sword, with his dagger and bow in easy reach, ready to dash out at the slightest sign of danger. However, his efforts were once again for naught, and he gained no more than another sleepless night. |
Day 3 |
---|
The FairyTale creatures met for the third time. They were feeling very happy. Yesterday, they had lynched a baddie, and had rid their kingdom of some of the influence of the evils in it, and they hoped to do the same today. This time, the creatures were almost all in agreement. The Prince had only to arrive when the timid sparrow flew forward and told him, "We wish to find the identity of marhart14, Your Highness." The Prince nodded and beckoned marhart14 forward. "Kneel before me," the Prince said, "and tilt your head forward." He drew his sword and raised his head high, before taking a long look at the person before him. "Oh deary me," he whispered, staring at the double of someone he knew very well. Marhart14 chuckled and pulled out a potion. She drank it quickly, and shrank to reveal the graceful, lithe form of the fairy. Laughing and spouting nonsense, she flew high into the air, away from the Prince's sword. Uncorking another potion, she said exactly one sensical thing: "I'd rather die painlessly." She swallowed the pale green liquid inside the vial and hardly a minute later, disappeared with a "poof!" |
Night 4 |
---|
The FairyTale creatures were wary tonight. They had lost so many of their own, and the rest were afraid to show themselves in case they were targeted by the vile forces in the kingdom. Luckily, these evil forces had no such qualms. The troll was angry. He called for the rogue. "You failed! Didn't kill leader!" The rogue forced a smile. "You didn't tell me which leader. Mboon was leading a group of animals, so she qualified as a leader." The troll grunted before clarifying, "You no use. Kill SMV!" The rogue sighed. "Fine, if I see SMV, I'll kill her." And without further argument, he melted into the night. Some distance away, he saw a campfire. He slid into the campsite and saw SMV sleeping in her tent. He drew his dagger and slit open the door, quietly creeping inside. He slowly made his way to SMV's throat, where, with a slice, he cut it open. Wiping his blade on her clothes, he made his way back to the troll, satisfied with a job well done. The princess was bored again. There weren't many people she could talk to now, afraid as they were of the darkness in the kingdom. Her thoughts floated back to last night, where she had held quite a stimulating conversation with Hidden G. "If only he were here now," she sighed morosely, then perked up as she saw him lurking about in the woods. "Hidden G!" she called. "Come talk to me!" And Hidden G, once again ensnared by the Princess's beauty, spent another night talking to her about anything and everything. |
Day 4 |
---|
The few FairyTale creatures remaining gathered in the clearing outside the Princess's tower. The Prince was already there, having actually gotten a decent amount of sleep the night before, and waited for the creatures to deliver a verdict. Suspicion was passed for several minutes, with each creature suspecting the others. However, despite the animosity, there were two questions on everyone's minds. Was the Dragon here? And who was the baddie? Smoth333 and flamebirde ganged up on Hidden G, who gave a snazzy defense in return, pinning the blame on flame and hinting at smoth as well. Smoth defended herself as well, glaring at flame for a response. Flame defended himself as well, asking smoth if he could really trust her. Finally, the Prince took a stand. "You have five minutes to decide!" he said. Smoth, flame, and G all retreated to separate ends of the clearing, mulling over the information they had received. When the five minutes were up, they quickly walked up to the Prince and whispered a name in his ear. The Prince was not too surprised at their choice. At the last moment, smoth and flame had joined forces, asking the Prince to reveal the identity of Hidden G. The Prince drew his sword and charged Hidden G. Before G knew what had happened, he saw a sword appear in his belly, and the was no more. Flamebirde and smoth breathed sighs of relief. They had guessed right and the kingdom was free of evil. Goodies win! :) All the other stuff, such as roles and actions and all that, shall be posted tomorrow. Most likely. Hopefully. ;) Until then, merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! |
